What would you pick as the best Beach Boys song written by each member of the group aside from Brian (not counting songs co-written with Brian)?

My picks would be:

Al -- Looking at Tomorrow
Bruce -- Disney Girls
Mike -- Big Sur
Ricky/Blondie -- Hold on Dear Brother
Carl -- Long Promised Road
Dennis -- this is the toughest choice for me -- too many great songs; I guess I would pick "Forever"

Mike              -  "Brian's Back"
Al                  -  "California Saga"
Bruce            -  "Disney Girls" ( but my favorite is "Nearest Faraway Place")
Carl               - "Where I Belong" ("Heaven" is his best overall)
Dennis           - "Cuddle Up"
Blondie/Ricky - "Here She Comes"

Agree with most of the Sheriff's picks:

Mike              -  "Brian's Back" (since "All I Wanna Do" is ineligible)
Al                  -  "California Saga" (just let the Sheriff pick that one for me since "At My Window" is ineligible)
Bruce            -  "Disney Girls" (but my favorite is "Dierdre")
Carl               - "Feel Flows"
Dennis           - "You And I" (solo album; from the BBs I like "Baby Blue" and "Angel Come Home")
Blondie/Ricky - "Here She Comes"

I've brought this up as a thread of its own before: when you get past Brian and Dennis, it gets pretty slim.

Mike - "Big Sur"
Carl - "Feel Flows" (or "Our Sweet Love" if that counts. I'm not sure how much of it he wrote.)
Dennis - Too many to choose from--like trying to choose my favourite Brian track, which I can't.
Bruce - either "Dierdre" or "Brand New Old Friends"
Al - "California" or "At my Window"
Ricky/Blondie - "Leaving This Town"

Good call on "It's A New Day"- that's a fabulous piece of work.  Should have been on the solo album.

Really? you're like the first person I've heard that likes it. I think I like it, but I'm also guilty of feeling sorry for the song & really wanting to like it and giving it credit.

Actually, "Angel Come Home" is written by Carl (although lead vocal is by Dennis).

Yeah, I get mixed up on that one.  At some point I had thought it was co-written by the two of them, can't remember why I was confused on that.  Great song, though.

Suzie Cincinatti makes me go 'Meh.' Original Big Sur is cool, way cooler than the other one. Looking At Tomorrow is OK. Trader is alright, though the lyrics are a bit dopey. Hold On Dear Brother is good, if a bit sub-Elton John. All This Is That is quite good, though I think the arrangement is what really makes it so. Disney Girls is Bruce's best. Can I give a shout-out to San Miguel? I think that Dennis was really firing on all cylinders there.

Yeah, I think it's a really catchy, rockin' song. The lyrics are a little cheesey, but in a good way.

Don't tell me that "You and I" is the best Denny track!  It's the only one missing from my "copy" of POB!
