Title: Best Non-Brian Compositions Post by: busy doin nothin on May 05, 2006, 09:10:04 PM What would you pick as the best Beach Boys song written by each member of the group aside from Brian (not counting songs co-written with Brian)?

Mike - "Brian's Back" (since "All I Wanna Do" is ineligible) Al - "California Saga" (just let the Sheriff pick that one for me since "At My Window" is ineligible) Bruce - "Disney Girls" (but my favorite is "Dierdre") Carl - "Feel Flows" Dennis - "You And I" (solo album; from the BBs I like "Baby Blue" and "Angel Come Home") Blondie/Ricky - "Here She Comes" I've brought this up as a thread of its own before: when you get past Brian and Dennis, it gets pretty slim. At some point I had thought it was co-written by the two of them, can't remember why I was confused on that. Great song, though.

Trader is alright, though the lyrics are a bit dopey. Hold On Dear Brother is good, if a bit sub-Elton John. All This Is That is quite good, though I think the arrangement is what really makes it so. Disney Girls is Bruce's best. Can I give a shout-out to San Miguel? I think that Dennis was really firing on all cylinders there.
