Welcome back to a new round of BEACH BOYS SURVIVOR. Remember to be respectful of others opinions. Please don't spam the thread with too much opinionating (a little is ok  :D ).... and without further ado...

Quote
"M.I.U. Album is the twenty-second studio album by The Beach Boys, released on October 2, 1978 on Brother/Reprise. Recorded during a fraught time for the band, only Mike Love, Al Jardine, and Brian Wilson appear consistently throughout the album, with Carl and Dennis Wilson audible on only a few tracks. Produced by Al Jardine and songwriter Ron Altbach, the album's title stems from Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa, where the majority of the album was recorded.
Reflecting on the album in 1992, Mike Love noted, "It was too democratic. Everybody coming into it with their song, which is okay. It's like if you have an album and have a hit song on it, and it's very commercially viable. Doesn't it make sense to have another song that would also be commercially viable? And a third and a fourth."

As usual vote for your least favorite track. The track with the most votes gets voted off.

Tally on March 28th

She's Got Rhythm

Kona Coast
Peggy Sue
Wontcha Come Out Tonight

Edit:  Changed from Belles of Paris to Kona Coast.  At least Belles wasn't Mike Love recycling past hits.

Mike's not a Hawthorne boy. The Hawthorne guys stuck together. The Wilson's and I always had a special bond. We felt like we were a team.

Belles of Paris.  The lyrics and French "accent" kill it.  Nice background harmonies though.

Belles of Paris is the worst.

(I've been excited for Survivor to finally get to this album--it's one of my favorites!)

A band called The Beach Boys are mostly going to be a fun in the sun-themed group. And that has, is, and will always be just as it should. There needs to be ONE classic band that isn't a pack of endless "artistic" moan. All people wanna do is make The Beach Boys into another Beatles they are less tired of.
And, for anyone who has actually experienced them, surfing and cars carry PLENTY of emotion and life experience. They can carry as much metaphor as any Van Dyke Parks clever epistle.
