Yesterday's Rekord Trek

Very nice indeed..

I think so too! I had not heard the Schmillison In The Night before...its all stuff like Cole Porter, Irving Berlin & showtune covers with the most lush string arrangements you've ever heard - and if you listen carefully you'll hear a few bars of other songs (without the lyrics) mixed in there and there.

Except for the Billy Strange LPs these records are nearly pristine and they are probably first pressings that were taped and put away. Jackets are like new LPs without the shrink wrap!  They cost more than the $1.00 each Good will price but none were over $6 and most of them were $3-$4 each. I dont see records like this very often and will make room for them if I have to get rid of some other stuff -  Grin

Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

Great prices! I almost never find deals like that, seems a lot easier in the US. When I look at discogs or ebay, it seems records are much cheaper there, unfortunately postage costs rule them out for me.

Walked for half an hour from campus to a small thrift store and got:
Greatest Hits - Linda Ronstadt
Tapestry - Carole King
The Four Seasons Story - The Four Seasons

Unfortunately my record player's at home so I won't be able to listen to them until next week but they're in pretty good condition.

Not bought, but got it as a birthday gift. It's a 1969 UK pressing.

Saturday night, Half Price Books, on the new end cap where they've been putting out new records (which they've started selling a ton of, at least at the location nearest me) and LP box sets, a perfect copy of All Things Must Pass. All three discs, poster, everything in beautiful condition. Probably the most I've ever spent on a record there, but at $25 it was still a steal. I'm listening to it now, and even though I'm really familiar with the material, I'm still blown away by how good everything about it is. This album literally has everything you could ever want in a listening experience.

And I thought I had a good find last week with a promo copy of MIU...

Today, I bought Kate Bush's the Dreaming, Prince's Purple Rain, XTC's Apple Venus, Pt. 1, Willis Earl Beal's Notcunes (figured I should grab one while I could, only 300 being made), and the Three O'Clock's Baroque Hoedown/Sixteen Tambourines twofer.

yay music

Went down to the record store and bought incredibly clean original copies of the Rain Parade's Emergency Third Rail Power Trip, the Three O'Clock's Sixteen Tambourines, and the Walker Brothers' "Deadlier Than the Male/Archangel" single.

Record show today! Appropriately titled the "Big Dig" Record Show... so many boxes to dig through.

I now have Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Sunflower on vinyl.

Does anyone else here use discogs? :D
