Boooooo!!! Dennis was robbed. I've pretty much agreed with the result of every round before now, but WIBNTLA is just so, so,
so
much better than Breakaway - I'm actually slightly heartbroken by this result. WIBNTLA is Dennis' Surf's Up.
Every songwriter has their own Surf's Up. Susie Cincinnati is Al's.
naw, its kona coast
Don't agree with either of you. Al's Surf's Up is either Lady Lynda or Don't Fight The Sea. Though neither is in the same league as WIBNTLA and Surf's Up
WIBNTLA is not in the same league as Surf's Up. That's what I was getting at.
Surf's Up is a work of art. WIBNTLA is a sappy, cliche-ridden love ballad. It's enjoyable, but clunky.

I think they're both perfect songs. To each their own I guess
That part where the solo starts, and after a few measures the solos come in behind it? Beautiful. Love the flute jam at the end too. I've seen some who aren't the biggest fans, which I understand, but its justso unexpected to hear the song break down into that. Love the song.

I created an edit of WITNTLA that extends extends the intro by a measure, removes the guitar solo (as it were), and fades out a wee bit into the end jam. For me it tightens up the song and makes it much more enjoyable.

Yes. Check this out. Of all the Desper study videos, this one (to date) is my favorite!
A big +1 to that - it's really, really cool; thanks Stephen and Will C - even happily suprised myself by during the singalong; think I'd pretty well, in fact.
CAN NOT WAIT for the under construction items to be revealed

And the winner of perhaps the most hotly contested round of BEACH BOYS SURVIVOR is... with 22 votes...
!!!BREAKAWAY!!!
COMMENT:
Now that
Breakaway
has won the contest, those of you who wish an in-depth look at
Breakaway
should visit
the Study-Video of this song by its engineer.
The a cappella of the words, the recording details, the sing along section, and other tidbits of info about
Breakaway
are a click away.
SEE:

and look for
the Breakaway
button.

Don't you like the guitar solo? That's my favourite section of the song. The part of the song I dislike is the 'I know I/you can cry' part and the floundering afterwards.

You seem to have a real issue with Dennis, Gabo! Something we should know?
