Friends is the 14th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on June 24, 1968 through Capitol Records. The album was the first Beach Boys release in true stereo since 1964's The Beach Boys' Christmas Album and was the first time a Beach Boys album had not been issued in mono. Friends was the final album until 15 Big Ones in 1976 to feature Brian Wilson as a dominant creative force in the group. On this album, Brian had contributed to the writing or production of each song with the lone exception of "Be Still".

Tough one because I love every song.. "TM" sticks out badly but at the same time I'm glad it's on there. I guess I'd pick "Be Still" too. Then again if Brian hadn't sung "When A Man Needs A Woman" so sweetly and beautifully, I'd pick that one right away. Cheesy song but Brian does such a nice vocal.

I love "Diamond Head" even though one could concede it is slightly out of sync with the rest of the album. Ideal background music for a nice Polynesian restaurant.

TM, mostly because it seems out of place, and really nothing special as a composition.

'Transcendental Meditation' of course.

Even then it's not a bad song. It's just everything else is so much better.
