I don't play games as much as I used to at all, and not many games on the current generation of consoles have really clicked with me.

What are some nostalgic games for you?

I'd have to list Star Wars Battlefront as one of the best...
I liked the Far Cry games
Grand Theft Auto...

But #1 would be Team Fortress 2...that's still my favorite game.

Anyone remember LAN parties?

sh*t, when I think nostalgia, I think Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Intellivision, ColecoVision, NES, Genesis, SNES and such.

I used to love LAN parties back in the late 90s. It was the best way to play StarCraft with friends. YOU REQUIRE MOAR VESPENE GAS!

Those were personal favorites  Grin

The real nostalgic games would be the ones I had on gameboy...I just can't see myself buying another handheld to play any of them.

TC Ghost Recon games were INSANE games to play in a room full of people. Not great any other time though...

Always love me some Doom as well. I got the Brutal Doom mod a few months ago and have never played it vanilla since. SO much fun.

Any game from 1981-92 or so gets me nostalgic. I loved video games, still do but never had time to be a full gamer after college.

Nostalgia for me is late/mid-90s stuff.

Crash Bandicoot is one I'll remember the most.

Star Wars Podracing anyone? I wish they'd bring that back, updated with top notch graphics, optimized for the Oculus Rift: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb8IRpmJUT4#t=15

Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon (PC) were favorites of mine.

I'm a huge gamer, with over 20 consoles and thousands of classic games. I grew up with the legendary DREAMCAST.

So I'd have to say, Sonic Adventure is my most nostalgic.... It influenced the kind of music I like today!

From lush interesting beats...

To rocking tracks...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhh8K2wJC1E  (<-- One of my favorites EVER)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKs5dBfcB9g

And then some just generally great songs...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qppHpolSlOg

AND THE LEGENDARY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH_MCPcjxP0

And the opening video... as a kid this blew my MIND.

I've still got my old copy! and a japanese copy... and the HD port...and DX.... and the Limited Edition version.... ugh... HAHA

For me, anything post-16 bit era is NOT nostalgia. I had a soft spot for the Sega Genesis when I was a kid, I still love playing the old Sonic the Hedgehog games. I'm too old to be nostalgic for anything post-16-bit...these days I consider 10-year-old games to be "recent", but 10 years ago a then-10-year-old game would have been a "childhood oldie" to me.

I think one day I will collect games more seriously. I just need the time, you can't really play and do other things like with music.

Damn, I don't think I've thought of that Duck Hunt game for nearly 20 years.

Anybody remember a NES game from the early 90s called "Fester's Quest"? You play Uncle Fester from The Addams Family and have to go around killing monsters. I sometimes think I must be the only person on the planet who bought that game.

That game was so terrible. Holy sh*t it was terrible. So terrible that AVGN did an episode about it!

Despite still remembering many mental images from the game, I honestly can't remember if the game itself was good or bad. You want to talk about bad NES games - anyone remember the dreaded Friday the 13th game? Now that stunk.

There's still one game that is much worse than E.T.
