You know that Michael never wrote the lyrics to that song, right?

That's true, I didn't. I even wasn't born yet.

It's up on iTunes. $89.99. No samples yet though and all the tracks are "album only".

I know this is probably not gonna matter to anybody, but judging by the track times, it seems like the "alternate mix" of "Brian's Back" on the set is actually gonna be the L.A. (Light Album) sessions version. My guess is maybe they used the vocals from Mike's solo version and combined those with the Brian produced group track.

Neat!

Well. Neat in the sense that it's likely not a subtly different version of something we already officially have. As neat as an alternate "Brian's Back" can be. Yeah.

Thats odd. I was going to say that it was an early version but it's placed where it was recorded around. Maybe an alternate version from MIU?

WIBNTLA is almost 5 minutes. I guess that "flute noodling" is in there?

How many versions do we already have? I think original 45rpm and LP versions for starters. Was another version included on a comp some years back?

Time to end AGD's exile already!

There's the LP version, the single version from 1981, mono and stereo promos, and the 1976 early version that was accidentally released on the Ten Years of Harmony CD.

It was also accidentally released on the Caribou CD release of MIU, as well.

I read somewhere that the song was a total of 7 minutes, the last 3 of which are noodling.
Looks like we're not getting the noodling..  or it fades out early.

Surprised to see that "My Love Lives On" is only 2:32. I got the sense it would be a big majestic opus in the vein of "(WIBN)TLA" and "Cuddle Up."

Meh, many "grand" compositions in the Beach Boys catalog clock in at around only 2-3 minutes long. There's a lot you can do in 2:32, so hay, we'll see. A lot of people who've heard it have made a big deal about it, so we'll see why soon enough.
