Jeff: Hey Brian, did you like my instrumental version of 'Surf's Up'?
Brian: What's Surf's Up?

All I can think of is the Eurovision episode of Father Ted:
Brian: No not the f*cking first one! The f*cking first one's already f*cking down! Just play the f*cking note you were f*cking playing earlier! I've been playing the f*cking first one! We have the f*cking first one!
Jeff: So I'll just...
Brian: Just play the f*cking note you were f*cking playing there! F*cking what you were just f*cking doing! Play the f*cking note!
A Brian Wilson version of 'My Lovely Horse' would be EPIC.

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!

L.A. drummer Vinnie Colauita and Australian bass guitarist Tal Winkenfeld in the studio for Brian's project.
Is this the session for the re-record of "Hey Little Tomboy"?

Now, if we could just work out what chord Jeff is playing there, we'd know what song they are recording!

Vinnie Colaiuta is one of the greatest living drummers, but even with the best will in the world it's hard to imagine Brian producing something that gives him space to stretch out and do his thing. I'm intrigued, though.

According to Wikipedia, Tal Winkenfeld has regularly worked with Jeff Beck. I wonder why Brian's band seem to have been mostly sidelined? I know Scott Bennett posted on Facebook that he had played on some tracks last week but haven't heard anyone else from Brian's band mentioned.

And an amazing player. the reincarnation of Jaco...

Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

I bet they're working on a new song for the rock camp thing that they're both teaching at. Maybe some sort of collaborative thing where they can show the process to the students.

Makes sense, but where does Don Was fit into all this, will he be producing?

I don't know, but googling to see if Was and Beck had worked together before, I found this
http://www.1031jackfm.ca/2013/03/18/someones-in-the-kitchen-with-joe/
A 'supergroup' recording last month with Joe Walsh, Mick Jagger, Ringo Starr, Keb'Mo... and Beck, Was, Keltner and Wilkenfeld. Looking around more about that, it looks like Bill Withers was also involved. And this was recorded for Capitol.
It wouldn't surprise me if Brian was guesting on that in some way...

From Tal Wilkenfeld's Twitter feed :
"U know Brian Wilson has written some awesome new songs when u wake up in the morning with them looping in ur head. Can't wait 4 y'all 2 hear!"
Could this be the confirmation we're all after ?
