Trying [New Foray into Unpopular Music]

Typical, you don't write a song for ages then make a nigh on 7 minute one.
https://soundcloud.com/samblack-1/trying-first-mix
Composed oddly - I was thinking of Getting Better by The Beatles and made the full loop on my phone lying in bed one morning. Then 'arranged' it by messing with the faders - I kinda just vibed out listening to the strings at the end which is why it's so long! Then kinda half-assed the lyrics (I might get a friend to rewrite them if she really hates these ones, and I'm not wild about them). Recorded the last bit by actually hooking my phone up to the computer and ringing it. But, there was a delay, and I don't think I've fixed it though. I can't alter the mix of the instrumentation (well, maybe). A strange way to work, and seeing as I've got lots of fragments I've done similarly...
Also, as detailed on the 'about making music' thread, I've started feeling creative for the first time this year! So hopefully there will be more to come.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

Reading that post, I wasn't sure what to think ... but I enjoyed that. Plus putting yourself out of your typical comfort zone compositionally can really lead to interesting things, so every experiment is a worthy one. Well done.
