On the basis of about 30 seconds of music.

Some enterprising twats have looped said 30 seconds SO I CAN ROCK THE f*** OUT TO THEM.

They now have my undying love for officially launching the new album at a farm show in Wee Wah, Australia. And I thought The Beach Boys were weird.

very excited

though to be honest, i love their 'late 70s West Coast pop-rock' music sound rather than their dance stuff

"Daft Punk later explained that they sought a "west coast vibe" for Random Access Memories, referencing such bands as Fleetwood Mac, the The Doobie Brothers and the Eagles"

You suck and nobody likes you, cablegeddon

Tony, in the link I just posted they have an interview with Todd Terje, who worked with them on the album when they recorded in LA and essentially said 'I had no idea about the sound, but I thought it was so cool and LA was paradise and after my 3 weeks working on the album I moved there'.  Which is a fairly ringing endorsement I suppose;

'This record is so good, I moved across the country to be nearer it'

They should put that on the cover sticker.

Also, NILE ROGERS AND GIORGIO MORODER are on it. I'm really buying into the hype, but I really want this album to be huge.

Snippet of the NEW SINGLE. Its got Pharrell and Nile Rogers on it. BOOM. https://www.youtube.com/embed/CGP2rkuEDl4

This is cool and all, I preordered the sh*t out of this album, but I wish they'd just RELEASE THE BLOODY SINGLE. I'd buy a car and learn to drive just so I could blare it out the windows all summer

Hope there's not too many guest stars. That always pisses me off.

Depends how they use them. Most of the collaborators listed aren't vocalists, so reckon you're alright. I'm worried about Panda Bear, tbh

Daft Punk have shared the tracklist for their new album Random Access Memories, which you can check out below.

The French electronic duo's long-awaited new album will be released on May 21st. Daft Punk have been dropping hints about it over the past few weeks, including airing a teaser trailer during Coachella that featured the song "Get Lucky."

For Random Access Memories, Daft Punk stepped away from samples and drum machines and enlisted top-notch studio musicians, as well as collaborators Nile Rodgers, Pharrell, Giorgio Moroder and Animal Collective's Panda Bear.

1) "Give Life Back to Music"
2) "The Game of Love"
3) "Giorgio by Moroder"
4) "Within"
5) "Instant Crush"
6) "Lose Yourself to Dance"
7) "Touch"
Cool "Get Lucky"
9) "Beyond"
10) "Motherboard"
11) "Fragments of Time"
12) "Doin' It Right"
13) "Contact"

Even if it's just me, I don't care. Get Lucky is my jam. Especially as it's nice out for the first time in AGES and it's like Daft Punk brought the sun back.

It's like, here is a new disco song from Daft Punk, it features Nile Rogers and Pharrell Williams. You know them from Chic and dropping hot things, respectively. May can't come soon enough.

Thanks, I was grooving out to the wrong version. This song really has some real instruments that I haven't heard in pop song in ages. Maybe the "wall of sound" can live again.

Surely BB fans who like Daft Punk would also like the disco version of Here Comes The Night. If you don't - you may be lying to yourselves.

Sort of OT, but speaking of BB connections and disco, I just realized that Joe Thomas' buddy and the "genius" who "wrote" Net-Surfin' USA, Steve Dahl, is the same guy who held the famous "disco sucks" record burning rally at Comiskey Park.
