Elvis was one cool cat, that is, until the pills and peanut butter got the best of him. Then my interest in him wanes. I don't much care for his final sessions, or his live material from the same period.

I like some of the 1976 sessions, but the 1977 live material is almost unbearable. It's really sad how far the man fell in 1977.

I've only heard a few shows from '77, but I found them unbearably poignant.
