Thank you so much for posting this JK . Yes, I love this song.
I'm okay - just dealing with something a loved one is going through (look up term Sundowning or Sundown Syndrome).

While paying bills and other fun stuff, listened to an album of Carl Perkins - Sun Recordings. Very enjoyable.

My pleasure, E. I did as you said and looked up those terms. My goodness, it must be absolutely heartbreaking for you.

Carl P is a tonic! Getting "Dixie Fried" doesn't solve every problem and may possibly create new ones but there are times when it's very tempting! Tongue

I wished to start new thread page. police Instead, smb. else did. Blah.

I quoted that Tiny Tim album to emphasize how good it is. & thus advised to listen to it addressing people in this board. It's selling album to masses, I said "folks", not "NBBF".

I'm very observative by nature & I see various posters here recommend stuff in various genres & the others very easily trust that boy or girl's music tastes & check said stuff, then surprisingly like it. Shouldn't it be fair to ask that people check music recommends given by I as well? Yet they don't. Is everybody scared I'd advise bad albums/songs? Chickens, ha. But it's real weird, since I don't think I've worse taste in music than those boy or girl. In fact, it may be better than many's. Surely it is. Then what's the matter?

Oh really, RR. Roll Eyes Remember that Psychic TV song you once posted--"Godstar"? Well, it's now one of my all-time favourites. And... it led me to explore Gen P's previous band Throbbing Gristle and discover the wonder that is 20 Jazz Funk Greats. So you see, nothing's the matter. Smiley

"Coolsville" is the one song I like by Laurie Anderson, who is generally too theatrical for my liking. That tick-tick-tick in the percussion eats its way into your brain...

Last heard on my wife's smartphone on an island off the Senegal coast at the end of last year.

Anderson East is quite impressive.  He's got a good throwback sound where the music sounds familiar but is also fresh.

Love this song. OK, "Ain't No Doubt" has a super-cheesy vid but Mr Nail acquits himself well in it:

Will have to check that Coltrane recording out.

Heard just what I needed driving home. One of my all time favorite songs, The Flamingos I Only Have Eyes for You.
Getting out of the car at home, someone in the neighborhood was playing Grover Washington Jrs Funk/Smooth Jazz classic, Mr. Magic. Perfect song for a sultry afternoon. Yes it's Autumn technically, but it's definitely still Summer temperature wise today!
Going inside, after listening to Russell Thompkins Jr's take on Don't Worry Baby, listened to the Stylistics' Betcha By Golly Wow.
Great, relaxing listening all around.

Ditto! This song would make a great subject for a thesis! Like "Good Vibrations", it's a little world all of its own. And once you enter you don't want to leave--I don't anyway. Wink

Once heard, this song is hard to shake off--it's "Goodbye Horses" by Q Lazzarus:

"Psycho Suite" (nope, clip isn't predictably film pics. It's cooler - piano sheet 3D ): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6uZLwfj4rso

Best film/music mesh miles away. It'd be desert island pick. Bernard there set standards nobody in film music-making beat yet. Skillful detail to film's mood, its goings.

These days my early morning/late night listen is Buxtehude's oratorio Wacht! Euch zum Streit gefasset macht (Das Jüngsten Gericht). I love the string motif cutting across the harmonies in Part 5 of this brand new 83-part upload by Ton Koopman:

And it still is. Each brief section, while part of the whole, has its own distinctive "flavour". In #31, for instance, Herr B tosses in some "blue notes", as the conductor of my ex-choir would call them. And a wonderful effect it is too!

More Buxtehude, some of his wonderful (and wonderfully inventive) organ music:

I get back to this Throbbing Gristle album sooner or later, usually "when I'm in my room and it's late at night", to quote Steely Dan:

We're writing Christmas cards this evening. Jimmy Smith, Oscar Peterson, Chess Records, Phil Spector, Vince Guaraldi, Peggy Lee, and Dean Martin Christmas releases have been in the carousel today.

Swell. Tbf, It doesn't look like Burl in the ava'. "Holly Jolly Christmas" is nice. There's better covers.

Edit: Previous poster below changed the ava. B4 it, they got humanoid-looking "Burl Ives" (??) pic with Burl Ives name written &  "Holly Jolly Christmas" song title written against green etc colors. You're welcome.
