Also @My Brother Woody - I like your Dennis-esque vox, it may fit with the "later Dennis" motif of the cover... I'd like to hear you do some leads, not set in stone but if it clicks like I think it will...

Drumless Backing Track: http://www.sendspace.com/file/az35kr

New part added during the "Tree" lines... a very cool reference :D

Excellent, Id love to have a go at it. The track is great, see what you mean about the later dennis feel. How should we proceed? Do you have a guide vocal with it so I know where to come in etc? I dont have much of a recording set up at the moment, I run protools 7.3.1 on an old laptop which is why I didnt offer to add any instruments however I got a good condenser mic for vocals and just need to find a sweet spot to record in this new apartment I moved into.

That track rocks, Mike! You could even keep the percussion relatively slight.... Wish the fade was a bit longer, mind  Smiley

Also, I think we need a name. The Bathrobes? The Long Awaited Rock & Roll Album? The Wood? Brian & The Five Assholes? The Oldsurferdudes? The Faded Rock Group Revival?

give the full lead to Break Away to Billy C, if he wants it.

I want 'This Whole World' and 'Breakaway', but esp. the former. I think that's the one that I could do best.

EgoHanger, are you okay taking the main lead on Break Away if Billy C wants This While World?

I can deal with that Smiley

I'd also do background vocs on absolutely anything else if you need them.

I'm gonna see what I can do about drums to Father Of The Man's "Little Bird". If they aren't good enough, or someone else wants to give them a go too and the producer can decide which one is more suitable...cool.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Looking good. If there's still one open I'll take a lead vocal on Somewhere Near Japan. I also can cover keys if need be. I've got a great yamaha full weighted 88 key in my place. I'll let all these people up in Washington Heights wonder where that Beach Boys music is coming from

Hey guys, may I do some Marilyn leads/back vocals? For instance, in something with Party vibe?

I know it's a little late now, but if part 2 ever gets off the ground, I could provide "dings", "dangs", and "ding and a ding dongs", some guitar bashing if anyone's up for a punk-style cover, and I can do a good approximation of Brian singing DWB at Long Beach in '81! LOL LOL LOL I could also handle a lead on Smart Girls, Summer of Love, or Wipe Out!  LOL

I had submitted a try at the drum track to Little Bird to Father of The Man - but we still need a better one. For reference (or to practice vocals), here's mine: http://www.sendspace.com/file/xsaoij

Can anyone do a better drum track to get us movin' and groovin' here?  Wink

Whoops. I've missed the last few pages of posts, but if someone gives me a clean track I can do the drums for Little Bird.

I did! Pretty cool.

Today, I'll work up a rough track/guide vocal of Shunshine. Got nowt else to do.... Do you still need someone on those low parts for Little Bird?

if you need/want a second set of ears on those vocals, let me know--a few things at work blew up earlier this week so i've been behind on this project, but they've let up again so i should have some time this weekend.

Ok, my flatmate banged on my wall and told me to stop f***ing clapping, so here's the unfinished Soulful Old Man Sunshine backing track - I need to be on her good side in order to borrow her bass  Grin

How does that grab you, Seltaeb? Think I've drenched in a little too much reverb, but you get the idea? If you like, I can send over a guide vocal to you (I'm not posting it publicly because it's really dreadful in places, stupid high notes  Grin). And I'll reply to your PM after dinner, sorry it's taken forever.

Egon, could I trust you to do reference mixes for harmonies? I can't sing that high. Or, indeed, anyone else if they know the things. I'll sleep on it and might ask one of you to do a simple drum thing to give it some low end.

Anyway, enough banter.

Duh. It's private on Soundcloud, so of course it just doesn't GIVE YOU THE RIGHT LINK IN THE FIRST PLACE
