If Mark Linnett is involved in the remastering, then it has to get a regular release in the US, right?

That being said, if we do get it, I hope they keep the bonus tracks from the twofers.

It is an odd selection tho, cause it's not only 60's stuff, it goes into the 70's, without giving all the rest of the 70's albums, and yet there's some 60's albums missing... that's just weird. maybe they'll fix that.

Wonder if they;'ll be single discs in Japan, and two-fers over here and in the US?

I'm sure the missing 60s albums will show up … too important not to.

I doubt they would be 2-fers with Mono/Stereo of each album on one CD. Though, I suppose they could do a 2-fer with Sunflower/Surf's Up, since both are only stereo.

I swear. This is not just the Beach Boys. EVERY BAND i get into and buy their whole discography comes out with a career spanning box set or new remastered versions in stereo right after it. It's my fault for being impatient. But still it sucks.

That is a better thread title tho,
cause some people might think it is international, at least for now it's only for Japan.

I really like the stereo remixes of Pet Sounds and SMiLE material. I don't really care for the mixes on the Warmth of the Sun comp/others. They don't sound right to me. Not wide enough and the eq is goofy. I hope the Today!/Summer Days material is remixed again and sound like Linett's mixes on the two boxes.

Perhaps it's just optimism talking but I have a feeling this will be an international release but at the moment, it's Japan who's reporting the news first (perhaps even released there first).  That was the case with a new Rolling Stones/Muddy Waters DVD that's coming out next month: a Japanese site announced it first and it wasn't until some weeks later when other sites announced that it was available everywhere.

From the looks of it Capitol has put a great deal of work into this.  I doubt it'll only be limited to one country.
