Hopefully, he's not freaking out too much at turning 70! Given what he went through, this really is quite an accomplishment.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Happy Birthday, Brian!   Thank you for hanging in there all these years and giving us your great music!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Happy birthday and eternal gratitude to the man who was made for these times - for healing our souls and washing away our sorrow with his music.

Like so many here, I first discovered the Beach Boys through my parents.  I recall buying one of those bargin basement cassette tapes in the early 80's for my mom as a birthday present (I was all of 7 or 8 and thought, my mom likes the Beach Boys so I'll get this).

All those years later...here I am.  It's a real testament to Brian's importance, which can never really be overstated.

Like few people here (!) I discovered Brian Wilson through his album Imagination!  No kidding!  I then attended one of Brian’s very first solo shows at the Wiltern theater, and as we left I told my wife that we had just seen some sort of spiritual event!  There was just something in the air that night.  It was a wonderful show that I will never forget!

So happy birthday to the Gershwin of our time!  Congrats on a #3 album!  My goodness!

You think? I'd do the same if my room mates knew who BW is. And I know a girl who does even crazier birthday parties for Alan Rickman each year. I attended one of those and it was fun.  Smiley
