Placeholder for tomorrow night's show.  Like the first thread, this thread should hopefully consolidate all setlist/pics/videos/reviews/autotune info etc into one thread for easy viewing!

Soundcheck/Meet and Greet

First update by Shadownoze of the soundcheck:

Posted notice outside saying this concert is being filmed.
Jardine being interviewed by merch table. Chatted with us for a moment.
The VIP host, "Stix," is a very nice young guy who travels with the tour. He takes the photos at the meet&greet.
Six or seven different t-shirts available, four hats, program, poster, hoodie, coffee mug, maybe more. VIP group will get first crack at it after sound check.
Sound check: Wendy (inst only)
Bruce thanked us for coming.
Catch a Wave/Don't Back Down/Surfin' Safari.
Not sure if this is different from Tucson, but Foskett is smack in front of Brian's piano, just behind Al.
Brian plays piano constantly, but didn't sing.
LDC/409/Shut Down
Sail On Sailor: Brian on lead, sounded good, messed with the melody a bit.
You're So Good To Me
That's Why God Made the Radio: nice!
California Dreamin'
After several stops and starts, Jardine addresses us early admitted: "Have we sucked all the glamor out of this for you guys yet?"
All Summer Long/Rhonda
Do You Wanna Dance
All this is that: band only

Lots of funny lines during sound check, which I'll try to recall.
At one point, Scott T. said, "Does anybody need more Darian?..that's a rhetorical question, Darian." Someone else said, "I got enough of Darian YEARS ago."
Rehearsing the ending of Sail On Sailor, Scott demonstrated what he wanted. Darian then asked, "Scott, do you wanna hear how Brian's been doing it?" After it was demonstrated, Brian's way won out.

Regarding the VIP goodie bag, it's not very impressive. The limited edition shirt is a plain White tee with the 50th logo  in a metallic gold. Tote bag is okay, poster is nothing special (but you could get I flat or rolled), souvenir lenticular ticket is pretty cool, lanyard with meet/greet pass is blah.
Saw Melinda at sound check, without glasses. Also, Billy Hinsche.

Heroes and Villains: great, w/ a Capella ending!
In My Room
All This Is That: loved it
God Only Knows: video of Carl was a couple beats behind the audio
That's Why God Made the Radio: goo, still a bit shaky, but after a few more dates this will be a big spot in the show.
California Girls
Dance Dance Dance
Help Me Rhonda: green bra tossed onstage, Mike hung it on Al's mic stand
Rock & Roll Music
Do You Wanna Dance: lead by Brian, no doubling...and I could not detect any auto tune tonight.

Fun Fun Fun

Hahaa, B-Pain. At least I can laugh at that.

I wouldn't count on the autotuning to cease.

It might be out of The Beach Boys hands. As a musician myself it is a nearly impossible task to try and prevent all the tech-perfection minded folk in the racket to not impose the latest-greatest magic bullet potion for whatever human flaws might creep their way into any situation.

All these concert threads will eventually go to the Concert subsection.  For now, because of the high traffic on this board (unlike the concert subboard), the threads will be started and discussed here and once we get three or four concert threads here in this section, I will ask the moderators to move these out.

Let's not keep up the numbering trend for too long though. I think it'll be silly for it to be like "The seventh gig: boston!" and "show #37: Tokyo!" (those cities were examples and not indicative of actual tour locations. in fact just for the hell of it, show 63: newcastle! show 64: wolverhampton! show 67: surrey!)

haha yeah...I was gonna stop numbering after the third one.  Not sure why I picked three, per se,  but...meh...something about the "The First Three Shows" seemed special.

I'm going to the show tonight, sitting in the front row. I've got two hours before I report to the lobby at 4:00 for the VIP experience. Did not sleep much last night; this is like Christmas when I was a kid...and that's been a long, long time (since we've been strung out on love).

There's already a lot of garbage posted in this thread. I don't want to go through six pages to read the first post about the actual topic so please keep the other stuff to a minimum if possible

Well just like the "first gig" thread, once the setlist and pictures were made available, I inserted them into the first page of the topic for anyone who didn't want to sift through the entire thread.  I will do the same here.  So, if you don't want to follow the converstaions as it unfolds, just check this first page and see Post # 2 for the set list.

Great. Thank you. Didn't realize it in the first thread
