Hey never mind what Murry thought of Pet Sounds - what did he think of Smiley Smile? Please, please someone tell me there's quotes. Honestly, how fantastic would it be to have been a fly on the wall as Murry sat listening to She's Goin Bald and Windchimes for the first time...

Maybe somebody thought Carl was like Ernie in "My Three Sons."  Adopted, even though he mysteriously resembled his older, supposedly non-biological brother.

Now you mention, Dennis did look pretty damn different to his podgy brothers and dad.... Would be interested to hear re the relationship between Audre and their local postman/milkman/etc  Grin

There was that remark in David Leaf's book about Murry going to pieces every time he heard Brian's vocal on "Caroline, No." And, of course, he suggested speeding up Brian's voice.
