Photos of the guys of late show them looking good but as we know that has not always been the case. Bruce and his shorts and who can forget Mike with a Turban?

I'm starting a queer beer eye for the straight guy thread for those classic shots.

First up...Mr and Mrs Wilson

You mentioned the turban before the sparkly gold vest?

Melinda's style is questionable. She was a good looking woman 20 years ago, and a former model... I'm sure she could look much better than she does. I thought Brian looks good in those pictures if not completely groomed. The jacket's fine with me.

No mention of the Lovester's yellow (and other colours) shirt at Live Aid? Blue trousers too! He even upstaged Al with his purple shirt that day  LOL

I actually liked the gold jacket thing, I much prefer Mike doing his take on Jagger on the Good Vibrations tour dvd to him doing that funny dancing on the spot thing he did in the early years.

Also what about Brian's leather trousers in the late 80's, damn you Landy!!!

I like the overalls, actually. Al wore them, Dennis wore them and Brian, too, as I recall from a late 70's Tower Sunset sighting.

Their look these days is pretty middle of the road, let's do brunch at the marina, kinda look. Not bad, but not very exciting.

Brian gets points for the shoes, at least. That jacket is a bit of an eyesore, though.

Mike (because shooting fish in a barrel is fun)

Brian (Dude, no tie and no shoes and you might as well not be wearing a suit at all, you dig. Would f*cking Sinatra be seen without shoes? No f*cking way.)

Carl (what is this. This is horrifying.)

Al, you are not a cowboy. Stop it.

I fucking hate dungarees.

The other things to keep in mind when wearing a suit are a) make sure it's appropriate and b) don't go overboard. So obviously Bruce just rocks up in top hat, tails, gloves, and cane on a summers day to a photoshoot apropos of nothing. Way to not look like a twat, Bruce.

It is very, very easy just to fill this thread with pictures of Mike.

Although in this one, he does look like he is about to stomp your punk ass. He looks like someone just told him that his school isn't great. Daddy took the T-Bird away. He got up this morning, turned on his radio, and it didn't tell him about the surfin' scene. He's gonna Shut. You. Down.

The Beach Boys are Rock 'n' Roll awesome; ABBA was awesome/awful in that way, too.

A quick google image search seems to show that only Bruce Springsteen, the governor of Montana, kids with mullets and cowboys wear bolo ties, which makes it an even more questionable decision. And no shoes, man!  Grin

Where are you from? It's a Western thing. I had two; one with torquoise, the other a scorpion. I've seen them often; even in semi-formal settings.

Brian is not Sinatra, he is a Beach Boy, I would think shoes are optional. As stated by another poster above the leather pants (and cowboy boots) on Brian in 88-89 were bad. Carl's mid-70's jumpsuits were the absolute worst. Oh, and those 1977 team "racing" jackets (which Carl wore over his jumpsuit)?!?

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591
