One can only wonder what they're mixing... or maybe it's nothing and Brian's making the alternate Pet Sounds mono mix for the 1635th re-issue..?

Not before people start insisting it's Photoshopped because Capitol insist on perpetuating this lie that the Beach Boys are in the studio or whatever the heck it is people were arguing about the last new photo.

Excellent point - Alan's wearing the same shirt as in the video, and I think maybe BW is as well.

Actually Al's wearing a similar shirt, but different. BW's shirt differs to the shirts in both versions of the vid.

Duh... clean forgot that they were, indeed, in the studio on Friday. All, including David.

"Brian and Al at the board."

Brian (and the Boys' music) was featured in a clip on HBO's documentary film section, in "The Union" with Sir Elton John and Leon Russell.  I found it emotional, beautifully done, and Elton and Leon (who has been ailing) gave Brian the "summa cum laude" (with highest praise) nod.

Brian sang some studio background stuff, Stevie Nicks made a tribute cameo, and the film was full of Elton's gratitude for his mentors, as well as reflections on Leon Russell and his larger-than-life and imposing rock star persona.

If you have HBO, catch it while it is running!   Wink

Yes, it is pretty new...Leon had a 5 hour brain surgery, walking with cane, and needed some accommodation, but Sir Elton, pulled a first rate crew together, I think to get Leon "back in the game" and thank him for his guidance...maybe it is or will be out on DVD.

And, I found it a wonderful act of kindness.  You could see Leon improve as the music began to take shape, working with Elton, and he found his comfort zone at the piano, in the film.  A real role reversal.

Interesting comment on Brian's efficiency in the studio and some chatter on the great rockers that were on various tours.

And, his hair!   Wink

p.s. just found the DVD with the CD they made, on amazon (us) - around $13.00 (US) including the "making of" with Cameron Crowe.  Great chunk of Rock History! Great Deal!  Wink

Is that a packet of cigarettes in Brian's hand?

Well he did warn us at the end of his autobiography that getting back with the guys would be the slippery slope. Does anyone know if he's stopped washing yet? Andrew?

The shirt you can see over Brian's shoulder DOES resemble the one BW wore in the longest DIA video – I wonder if that's Jeff Foskett is a hand-me-down?   Grin

You did not lose your mind, yet!  I did say that!  They did do snippets of the Boys, and showed their photos and a couple of album covers.  I found it really touching...

But, I would love to trim (not cut) that hair/beard of his! Or, send someone in to do it! Even, if it sounds sacrilegious!   Wink

It masks his still good looks! (That is a girl talking!)  LOL

Is that a packet of cigarettes in Brian's hand?

No, it's a taser Melinda gave him — in case Mike insulted his shoes again.

Rocker - My impression that part of the motivation was - a fund raiser, to help Leon's financial security, and the DVD/CD is cheaper than a 30 rack of beer. 2nd column on Amazon (brand new.)  Less than $13.00.

Maybe your local library can get a copy for viewing.   Love

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591
