There's not many songs of Brian's from around the early seventies and there were a few I was wondering about. So here goes...

From what I've concluded from Jack Reiley, "Burlesque" is from the Surf's Up sessions? Although AGD's site says 1972.

Then we got "Funky Fever" which is from February 1972 and "Rooftop Harry" from April 1972? Any info on these?

Then finally there is Brian's medley of "Baby I Need Your Lovin'" and "Gimme Some Lovin'" that Andrew says is from 1973. However, it also says "Gimme Some Lovin'" was also recorded in April 1972

Were any of these completed? If not, how far along were they?

Don't forget the fantastically named 'Is Jack Reilly Really Superman?', from 1972  LOL

Also something called 'Spark In The Dark', also from '72

And the usual culprits of Lucy Jones, and Just An Imitation, dating from '73/'74.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.
What is this "life" thing you speak of ?

'Cause that's what Jack told me.  Smiley

Not, as is frequently assumed, a nascent "Funky Pretty". It's Brian noodling around on a piano for several minutes - starts off sounding like "Loop De Loop", has a bit of a wander and ends up sounding alarmingly like "Chain Reaction Of Love". No vocals.

The Beach Boys doing "baby i need your loving/Gimme Some Lovin" would be awesome to hear.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591
