May have been elsewhere, but a pretty good generic commercial for Riverbend.

If they play something like "Come Go With Me" over a song like Cabinessence I think I might lose it. LOL

Did the band put out that video to different venues themselves? That's the exact same video as the one the Mohegan Sun has on their website, just with the venue name changed.

I don't remember seeing it before.
Where's the footage of Carl (?) recording outside at  0:10 from ? The only time I remember that they recorded outside is Sunflower/Surf's up era but this doesn't look like it imo

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I would guess the footage had to be serviced to venues from the BB's/Brother, perhaps a pre-made trailer that can be overlayed with specific venue information. That wasn't typical generic footage that a venue would normally use for an upcoming BB concert. It has the "50" logo, reunion footage, and a bunch of random footage ("Good Vibrations" studio sessions, late 60's studio footage, live footage from July 4th, 1980 in Washington, and so on).

Thats what I meant by generic. The same commercial that can be used anywhere with a different voice-over and location credits.

Yup, that footage is from the back of 10452, as depicted in the Sunflower gatefold - I recognise the trees.

On that Riverbend footage you see a 4th of July 1980 clip with the audio of the studio version of "California Girls" but it looks like they are really singing the chorus to it. Since my version of that concert does not contain that song I wonder if we'll get to see the whole gig some day. I've always loved that one, though the audio mix sucks in some way ... .

Perhaps sadly, I know the 7/4/80 show better than perhaps any other BB show simply because I wore out my old VHS tape playing the HBO airing of the show a million times. The HBO airing was edited down to 60 minutes. It was later released on home video in Japan. I have a 1997 Japanese DVD of the show, and it looks and sounds great. It was a legit release of the show.

I've said for years I'd give anything to see the entire unedited show. I'm sure it's partly just nostalgia for having watched that show so many times. It was broadcast on the radio, and the show was much longer (they did "Santa Ana Winds", that weird "Merry Minuet" song, and others).

Back around the time the Knebworth show was released on DVD and CD, I asked, I believe, Alan Boyd if the uncut Washington DC 1980 video footage was in the BB video vault, and he indicated that it wasn't, and the only footage available was the finished, hour-long cut of the show. While a bit of news camera footage of the show has been seen over the years, that short bit seen in the new TV commercial is indeed from the pro-shot footage of the concert (same camera angles and everything), and that is indeed "Calfornia Girls", which was not in the TV airing. So it appears that they've tracked down some if not all of the uncut footage of that show.

I have to repeat again that my weird personal holy grail of BB video footage is more or all of that show. If anybody knows anything about where that footage came from, I'd love to know!

That is awesome they are playing at Dodger stadium.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Great news! I thought they would start to rehearse on April 10th? The boys playing in front of 56 000 people is awesome.

I may be there.  My law firm has season tickets and I have them opening day.  Unfortunately, I am scheduled to start a trial on the 9th, so we will see....

Ol' Magic Johnson and his group just bought the Dodgers, so maybe they'll sink some cash into this and it'll be a success. Might get some promo posters and hats and frisbees and kites and mugs balloons and other collectible junk......or better yet, maybe even a shirt or a bat and ball!  Maybe Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) will throw out the first ball!  Bosso neato cool , man!

Go Giants!!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

The story says one song.

There are any number of songs those guys could rehearse a few times in the morning and knock out of the park later in the day without raising a sweat!

Yah: Alot of what I've been seeing lets me see it's already been decided that since Dennis isn't involved with this tour, it's not really the Beach Boys.
