The Beach Boys may not have played the National Mall on Independence Day 2011 but they were represented. Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Ramblers played and during the fiddle solo on "Orange Blossom Special" the fiddler included a piece of Good Vibrations....as seen on PBS.

Yes, "that" Steve Martin. He's on tour playing banjo w/ his group.
