pleasure island.

New song title?

Or is that actually what Kokomo is about and I'm not reading between the lines?

It is an album title for his Rock N Roll album that he wants to record.  He has been talking about the Rock N Roll album since the 90s, and more recently gave the name Pleasure Island as the title of the Rock N Roll album.

I really dig that album title...and I hope he goes through with recording it.

My Danish is a bit rusty

Just out of curiosity Andrew, how have you come to learn Danish? Unless you've somehow found an English version of the statement online, I'm very impressed by your translation.

I was going to see him here in Copenhagen. What a bummer!

You're probably right. I was just wondering since whenever I've tried Google Translate there are always a lot of details that get lost or come across as gibberish...  Smiley

Here's what was posted on his Twitter feed in English:

Sadly, it looks like we have to postpone the Scandinavian dates in Sept. I have a commitment in the studio in L.A. so we'll have to leave after Brussels. I promise to get back to play Copenhagen, Stockholm & Oslo as soon as I can. I love that part of the world and the wonderful people who come to our shows. We will keep you posted on new dates. In the meantime, back to my first love the STUDIO!!

Seems strange that any of Brian's studio projects would be on such a rush schedule that concerts need to be scrapped.

Not sure I'm really buying this story... Brow

Does seem to stink; after all, Brian/his management booked the tour. Wouldn't they know when he was going to be studio-bound?
Either way, sounds like a mess

Sounds like something out of the Al Jardine playbook.

Like when he 'departed' Brian's European tour to do 'studio work' on his album.

You got it!

My wife bought tickets to a artist 3 years ago who had a 'schedule conflict' but promised to return.

Surprise.......still waiting!

This all sounds a bit dodgy to me - why would you cancel three probably profitable shows to go and do some studio work in LA when you could probably do it in London or somewhere similar.

Its b******s - there is more to this

My Scandinavian sources tell me sales were very slow. Obviously nothing to do with the postponements of course, but just sayin'...

Pleasure Island sounds like a porno or a SAGA holiday.

I'd bet on SAGA, seeing as they've used 'I Get Around' in their adverts: http://travel.saga.co.uk/holidays.aspx

When I was in the US, January 2009, I interviewed Scotty and when I mentioned Pleasure Island his response was "we gotta talk Brian out of that title, sounds like a f*****' soft porn flick !"

Scott OTM  Cheesy

Wasn't there that v high res shot of Brian at the piano, with a piece of paper on it, which had a lot of song titles and things which mentioned Pleasure Island?  Or do I need more coffee?

Brian seems to do a few interviews where tracklistings, CDRs, etc... are just "left out on the coffee table"... not as naive as he seems, right?
