I love those colorful suits.

Man, although I haven't read a thing, those pics of late Dennis make one sad.....

Embarrassingly( for me) I grabbed too much credit!  Looking back at the magazine scans, I can see they're mostly Steve's...  Now if you throw in my other scans, I look better, well, maybe not. But Still!

So! some scans for Steve:

This is so fascinting ! Thanks once again !

Maybe someone can help me:
when I zoom in on the Dennis articles from Rolling Stone, the writing can't be read very well. Any way I can change that?

Interesting thought. In Hit Parader June 1967, Dennis says:
If you listen closely to the Pt Sounds album, you'll hear me playing jazz patterns. Some of the things definitely aren't Rock'n'Roll

As you probably saw he also mentions Hal Blaine in that interview and that he has played on Pet Sounds. So, could it be, that Dennis played on more Pet Sounds-tracks than we think? Or was he only talking about That's Not Me ? Might he be audible on session outtakes taht were not on the boxset ?

I can't help much; I usually have a problem when I'm trying to read some of these things. What I did the last time was right clicked and hit save picture; then I opened it on my screen from there, and enlarged it a bit. That worked for me this time...

That's what I did too. But it's allright. I thought I did something wrong. I guess I'll get through it one way or another  Smiley

So! some scans for Steve:

Circus June 1971 ( 3 pages) :

Fusion  January 21, 1972 ( 4 pages) :

The first picture with Al has him wearing a shirt with stars all over it...wasn't that the one in a video for Good Vibrations? I feel like it was from a late 60s tv show appearance, a music video was shot for it...it was on the BW-A&E-Biography, I believe.

It's interesting to see hat the boys were described as one of the, "if not the biggest power" in american pop music in september '67 and were playing to crowds of 8,000 people in New York !

Mike's favorite music group is the Four Freshman? Somehow, I'm surprised with this.

I'd figure Jan and Dean or the Everly Bros. would be his mentionable.

There are a lot of pictures in these articles that I've never seen before. And many of them are very great. I hope someday someone hunts down the originals and releases a picture book of the Beach Boys (on tour). Where they all done by Earl Leaf (at least the early years)?
