Did some googling of our favorite subject and found a spreadsheet of what appears to be a recent EMI catalog...
http://prorock.ro/media/PRECOMENZI-MUZICA-EMI.xls

Obviously, we know by now that the 8/8/2011 release date isn't happening, but it's interesting that they list three items:

(T)HE SMILE SESSIONS (BOX SET LTD EDITION, ONE-OFF  (No. 5099902765822).  Number of units: 8 (Mixed)
THE SMILE SESSIONS (No. 5099902766324) Number of units: 2 (Compact disc)
THE SMILE SESSIONS (No. 5099902766621) Number of units: 1 (Compact disc)

This last item is intriguing, as I don't think that we've heard anything about a single CD release, have we?  Perhaps there's an error and No. 5099902766621 is really the vinyl?

8 units on the boxset?
does this mean 8 cd's? now that is an exciting prospect!!!
probly a DVD, 1 CD Basic album, but on the box that still leaves 6units, even if 2 are vinyl for a double album, thats 4CD's potentially of outtakes?

or am i wrong?

8 units will likely = 4 CDs, 2 vinyl singles, 2 LPs

Possibly, but with better pressing and different packaging methinks.

The main choices for an A-side SMiLE single would be: Heroes and Villains, Vega-Tables, Good Vibrations, Cabinessence. Perhaps Linett will see the historical value in making 'Vega-Tables' a single.

Do we think one of the singles will be the Mojo?

Worst-case scenario would be if BOTH of the vinyl singles in the box are just the Record Store Day 78 rpm that most of us paid a pretty penny for.

Think press release stated they would be 45 singles, but then I also think i am supping a beer right now, so who knows?

The actual press release specifies nothing about the box other than "deluxe, limited-edition." The Billboard article that preceded the press release says: "limited-edition boxed set containing four CDs, two vinyl LPs, two vinyl singles and a 60-page hardbound book written by Beach Boys historian Dominic Priore."

So ... "two vinyl singles" ... vague, but the RSD 78s definitely fall into that category. It could also be the MOJO single and one other single. Maybe someday they'll tell us...
