Like "Marcella", "Drip Drop" is another example of Brian employing too slow of a tempo for the recorded version. Sped up, it sounds much better:

Brian's potty mouth is nothing compared to Elvis Presley's. Every other word in the studio was muthafucka and God this and God that. Because we all know a real man proves his manliness with the size of his vocabulary of cuss words.

I friggin love this version. The song actually makes sense! It sounds more like a BBs song, rocks like a hurricane and even smooths the vocal out some. Oh, and the primal cacophony of fucks at the end is thoroughly excellent

It's weird how sped up, Brian sounds a lot like his '90s Paley era self here.
Now just imagine this song with a guitar solo and harmonies/background vocals something like the original Dion version. Maybe some rollicking piano chords here and there. Turns out Brian might've been on to something!

Wondering what's "awesome" about cursing or obscene language. Childish is the word that comes to mind.
It's less him cursing and more his delivery and the fact that, for whatever reason, he opted to scream, "LET'S GO MOTHER F
UCKERS" repeatedly in the middle of a cover of a Dion song without explanation. Like, who does that? Late 70s Brian Wilson does that. What was his intent with all of this? The world will probably never know. These are reasons why it's awesome, not just "tee hee he said a naughty word."
I love this recording more than I can put into words.
