As I noted recently, I lost my entire (absolutely monumental) music library a few months back and am currently rebuilding it (very) little by little. There's no rhyme or reason to the order but I'm currently almost finished with Fleetwood Mac and all associated acts, including the guy who's name is in the title of this thread. In researching his stuff, I see that Carl, Al, and Myrna Smith sang backing vocals on his Eye Contact album. Since Mick Fleetwood managed Welch's career well into the 80's I assume he put the two parties together. However, I'm curious to find any details related to the sessions.

Does anyone know whether they sang on the whole album or was it just one or two tracks? Was Myrna brought in like Billy and Toni on the Elton John and/or Pink Floyd sessions or was she doing work with the boys themselves around that time, in addition to her work with just Carl? Was it she who was initially referred to Bob and brought the Boys with her? Several questions abound, more than likely with rather boring answers.

Also, while going through the other Mac stuff I was surprised at how often the Beach Boys connection reared its head. In addition to "The Farmer's Daughter" on Fleetwood Mac's Live and Christine's romance with Dennis, etc, I was surprised to discover Mick Fleetwood's Zoo's cover of "Angel Come Home" and re-discover Lindsey's 1984 "D.W. Suite". Clearly the band had mad respect for Dennis and his brothers.

Lindsay Buckingham has expressed his love and admiration for Brian Wilson many, many times. I think they have certain similarities in their musical stories.

Dennis is also on the myriad photos in the vinyl version of Tusk. And he and Christine did record together... I remember asking the highly esteemed Ed Roach and Jon Stebbins about it, but I can't remember whether they said it was good, just that it didn't make it onto Tusk.

Don't forget that Lindsey co-produced the song HE COULDN'T GET HIS POOR OLD BODY TO MOVE, also. I remember when I met Lindsey while promoting his solo album " Out Of The Cradle ", I asked him what was it like working with BW. He smiled faintly and told me " it was great... until the Doctor showed up... " I often wonder if the two could work something out again in the future.
