The degeneration continues…
I'm occasionally one of the first to call Andrew when he gets insulting; on this occasion that hasn't happened – he hasn't. A once-readable thread is being waylaid by trolls who're (to my mind) insulting AGD. I'm sure it's water off a duck's back to him but the overall degeneration of the thread is pissing me off.
Can the Mods lock it to put a stop, then a fresh thread can kick off when there's any further news.
I recognise the Wee Helper name from distant days of yore. Threads go off topic and unfortunately Oasis are a bit of a banal tangent to go on but as for trolling I think AGD is as guilty as anyone on this thread. If you know something and can say it then say it , if you cant then don´t.

Indeed, to the extent that I'm distinctly disinclined to impart any news I may - or may not - have about the box to people who would evidently prefer to talk about another band.
*yawn* Stroke my ego and maybe I will impart some info from da iner cirkle ! If you know something then please do impart , I may or may not be interested. After 50 pages of nothing concrete it seems inevitable the thread is going to veer of into mild trolling at times. However Oasis are just as relevent info wise to the new box set as someone thats keeps posting I might or might not know something. Why you still need people to fawn over you Mr Doh? *off to sleep for another 10 years*

Generally I listen to music while stoned. (If I can help it). It genuinely does enhance the experience having those extra cannabinoid neurotransmitters firing. Not enhanced sound just your appreciation of it. With the exception of Smiley Smile (Little Pad and Wind Chimes especially) though I have never thought that any BBs music sounded like it was produced with the medicated listener in mind.
Listen to Pet Sounds while high I tend to skip Wouldn't it Be Nice. (That snare hit at the end of the intro can disccombobulate the unperpared listener). Lets Go Away For A While is an absolute dream.
MDMA is unpredictable but I have had some pleasant nights listening to Please Let Me Wonder on repeat. Honestly
Surely being from Cumbernauld, its more like a bottle of buckfast, 20 regal and a copy of 20 Golden Greats

Not instrumental only but missing some background vocals and the whole ´breaks my heart´ vocal section. What vocals there are sound good with the BB fullness but the most obvious difference is the piano melody is now overpowered by the same melody on electric guitar but works well enough

Sorry to say it but the worst GREAT BB song for me is Good Vibrations. I feel like its too short and doesn't take advantage of some really cool things. That being said, a re-edit of Good Vibrations to make it more structurally similar to the BWPS version pushes it out of my worst category.
OH FFS the worst..............

a turd with sleigh-bells is still a turd.
Out of the still wonderful unreleased BB's stuff out there, it makes no sense trying to big up Battle Hymn, if only the Caribou fire had got hold of that particular tape.
This thread is showing the appreciation of the song. We've heard all you goobers talk about how much you hate it enough already. So why can't you just NOT spill your hatred for the song in the one positive thread that exists? What is a goober?, should i be offended. But we do agree on something then, this is the one positive thread that exists about this song

So why don't people think that Chilton and Bell were pervs because of "Thirteen"?
because it was from the perspective of a thirteen year old male. Sorry but Lazy Lizzie just screams of 300lb of a thirtysomething Brian Wilson sitting in some polystyrence hamburger packaging littered Rolls-Royce. probably with bits of birthday cake as well

Brians lyrics have a habit of being painfully truthful and personal, think Til I Die, think H.E.L.P, think Adult Child, think Love You. Is it so hard to believe that a drug-addled Wilson in the 70's may have been a tad lecherous at this time. Some may not want to believe that there is substance to something like Lazy Lizzie as some of us hold Brian up in to much of an untouchable pedestal. He may or may not have indulged in a bit of kerb-crawling but I think he certainly was digging the schoolies at the time. Certainly in the Uk in the 70's the schoolgirl/gymslip thang was held up as an erotic risque image in media in a way that would be condemned as paedophilia now. It wasn't right then but it certainly was not the 'media hanging offence' it is now. Brian sang about something he did, or would have liked to do , end of.

But seriously......
I dont know of any lyrics or anything else being considered for Trombone Dixie. I don't think the melody lends itself well to a planned vocal to my ear. I consider it an instrumental experiment in much the same way that the PS title track and Lets Go Away For A While developed and evolved. This one just fell by the wayside for a few decades, nice bonus track though.
