 - Where I Belong
 - I'm So Lonely

An album in which there are songs like "All I Wanna Do", "This Whole World", "Forever", "At My Window", "Deirdre" or "Our Sweet Love" NEVER could be overrated.

I once listened to his John, The Wolf King Of L.A. (1970) - thought it was okay but didn't stick with me.





I'm a huge fan of the special M&P blend & tunes, though.

I love it, it's one of my fav albums, every song is terrific but "Topanga Canyon" is an absolutely masterpiece and one of the best songs John have written.

Stlanley Shapiro, the writer of the WIBNTLA lyrics, wrote this in you tube:

When Evie Sands recorded our song "WOULDN'T IT BE NICE TO LIVE AGAIN" it was placed on the ballot for a Grammy nomination for 'Song Of The Year'... following my co-writer's death in 1983, I wrote the lyrics to another song called "THE GYPSY QUEEN" ... a vision of an 'imprisoned' angel dancing on the waters of the Pacific Ocean... a loving tribute to the memory of Dennis. If Brian Wilson were to collaborate on this one incredible project, I think it would go straight to the top of the charts!!!

The Beach Boys were the best and biggest band in the world at 12-1966. I have always thought what would be if Brian had broke up the band then and went solo.

There is a clip of the M&P performing a cover of "Nowhere Man" on TV, but I suppose the original recording has been lost.

I'm wondering if that fantastic guitar sound was played by Carl...

WIBNTLA is very good, but Dennis has done better songs.

I think the 5 top Dennis songs are:

- CUDDLE UP (I think is the Dennis peak)
- FOREVER
- RIVER SONG
- THOUGHTS OF YOU
- STEAMBOAT

 

How the hell could they keep stuff like WIBNTLA in the vaults and not issue it until now. Compare this with another popular band called The Beatles. What did they pull out of their archives for the Anthology series? Subpar material such as You Know What To Do, If You've Got Trouble, 12-Bar Original and Los Paranoias...

Conclusion: The Beach Boys are better than the Beatles. 

 The Beatles were smart enough to release their best songs in the albums and not let it shelved for forty odd years.

Conclusion: The Beatles are smarter than The Beach Boys.

Don't forget "Life Thru A Lens" by Robbie Williams, a terrific album highly influenced by Oasis and early brit-pop sound.

By the way, is a mellotron the instrument that sounds in the begining of the song? (it reminds me a little bit the intro of "Strawberry Fields Forever".

Brian could make a call to Mike and Bruce and ask them to sing in one song of the album and the circle would be closed.

Regarding the length of the track, my version is about 4:30 minutes long with about 3:30 minutes which are the song in itself and the last minute which is a jam. Where the information about a 7 minutes version come from?
