Days of Future Passed is an interesting choice...where's my Moodies bud Erik?
I too have always loved the Moody Blues. To me they were a true "band" and came off as adults. I have had the good fortune to have seen them live throughout their long career. From the old days at Fillmore West and Winterland to just last year. They still have their voices. I do miss Ray Thomas. I think they still have one more great album in them.

While it's nice he's doing Canada, and the UK, and Paris, what's the problem with managament that there is NO US tour announced? He's doing 9 friggin Canadian dates, and nothing mentioned for the whole USA? Brian needs to get off his butt and kick his management HARD. They're downright crummy. A US artist with no US tour. He always sells out his shows in Europe. Here, not so much. SAd but true.

But Spector DID diversify his sound - the Beatles and solo albums, the Dion album, Ramones, quite different from the wall of sound he pioneered. And he did cut a few great albums, too, it wasn't all about singles, try "Love is all we have to Give", by Sonny Charles & the Checkmates from '69, an overlooked masterpiece.
I don't believe Spector was in the studio during the recording of "Let It Be" but was handed the unmixed tapes the band gave him.

Speaking of Blondie,,I'm still unclear on why Blondie was freaking out onstage at Winterland in San Francisco in 1973 or '74. He didn't want to go on and had to be restrained. I remember Al looking quite distressed. When they came again the following year (San Francisco Civic) no more Blondie but they all had on Striped shirts!

I must apologize and eat sh@t... I have badmouthed Al's "Postcard From Calif.." since rough tracks appeared on-line nearly 2 years ago. said it was crap and would not shut up about it. I was at a pal's place over the weekend and he put it on not knowing about my feelings. Well I was blown away and went to Amoeba and bought it. The finished product far outshines the tracks that I had heard earlier. The weakest song is "Drivin" but it kinda of grew on me in a Jan & Dean sort of way. Al has a great ear for harmony. He's a folkie all the way as well. All the other songs are great too. Buy it!

I totally agree with AGD's facts. That's the truth. That's a fact Jack! (or whatever Bill Murray says) Regardless of AGD's "facts", I'll stick with my perception of how Brian's management should/will work. In Brian's best interest, he's under contract to finish an album for Disney, and his management will make that a priority whether there's a reunion or not. I'm sure you've read his wife/manager's comments recently regarding a reunion. I predict they will stick by that premise through the release of the Disney album. If there's a reunion sometime in 2011, Brian has plenty of time to compile and get into the studio to record it. I don't think they want this next album anti-climactic to a Beach Boys reunion (if it happens). Personally, I'd rather see a reunion than an album of Disney songs. But like I said before this subject was talked to death, without Carl Wilson (and Dennis), it just won't be the same. And Bruce can sit in the audience and watch all he wants - I don't give a rat's ass. What did Brian's charming wife have to say? I haven't heard

I've read in the news that the reunion could be at least Brian, Mike, Al, Bruce and David, and that is as good as we can hope for, but if Blondie and Ricky could join as well, it would be perfect. I know Blondie is with the Rolling Stones and Ricky tours with Bonnie Raitt, but as the Rolling Stones are not likely to tour next year, I think the Beach Boys should ask Blondie to join. We need him to sing "Sail on Sailor" on stage, that song is a must. If Ricky can't drum, then perhaps Mike Kowalski.
I read someplace online that the Stones ARE touring next year. But....
