I'm about to go to the store to get some milk and cream for my Mom. With all this cheese talk will pick up a package of our local Creole Cream Cheese. It's usually mixed with sugar and fruit. Creole cream cheese ice cream is also popular. Or, for a savory change, spread some over slices of ripe tomato and top with pepper.
This cheese is very easy to make - just need skim milk, buttermilk, rennet, and cheesecloth. The curds are used for the cream cheese and the whey can be used for ricotta cheese.
Sounds great, Elizabeth. Enjoy!

Not sure if this fits the bill entirely. I heard it, possibly for the first time, in a documentary about the band Genesis a couple of days ago. It seems Phil was all over the 1980s----my only problem at the time was sorting out Genesis songs from Phil songs. According to Wikipedia, Collins claims "the song was modelled after The Beach Boys' 'Sail On, Sailor', Sly and the Family Stone's 'Hot Fun in the Summertime' and Toto's 'Hold the Line'." One Youtuber heard the Toto song in it but my first thought was of "Hot Fun". I think it's lovely, if rather sad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mCeEGNbM-U

I googled Rocky out of the blue to see if there were any updates on his book getting released, and found out he was just inducted into his high school’s hall of fame. I got excited when I saw that the event was livestreamed, but it turns out Rocky was a no-show to the ceremony. I had to do a lot of fast-forwarding around, but in case any wants to see his induction, it’s at about 1:25:27 in this video: http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/newark-memorial-high-school-newark-ca/7a4bf53f21. Thanks, BD. Whatever else, it's a fascinating glimpse into another world. "Rocky ... basically ended up being a bodyguard for the group The Beach Boys" (1:29:35).

I like it. There's a nice build to the album----the organ really adds a lot. And great to hear those Zoot Money and Hawks songs.
Favourites? I'd say #2 to #7----hard to pick just one. But the whole album holds together well.
Someone at Soundcloud commented on the great retro sound----I'll echo that. ;=)

I once knew someone who liked "Happy Endings". In fact it led me to decipher the lyrics, which were nowhere to be found at the time. All corrections welcome:
"Bring them back, bring them back Bring them back, wee ooo Bring them back
"Bring back happy endings Where the good guys always win Give me Santa and the Easter Bunny Make me smile again
"Bring back happy endings Where the good guys always win Like Peter Pan in Never Never Land, oh yeah Make me smile again
"(We'll) send all the tears away Bring them back to yesterday We'll learn to laugh again I can see the bad times end
"You love happy endings Then let's go back once more And dream a lot of Camelot The way it was before
"Look through the children's eyes And life becomes a lullaby Send all the tears away Bring them back to yesterday
"Bring them back, back Bring them back, back Bring them back, back Bring them back, back
"Bring back happy endings Where the good guys always win And Santa and the Easter Bunny Make me smile again
"Bring them back, wee ooo Bring them back Bring them back, wee ooo Bring them back Bring back happy endings Bring back happy endings"

I never listened to the boots as I became a fan in early 2011 and was able to wait until the official release with the 1993 box set's smile songs.
Same here, only it was 2003 when the sledgehammer hit home. In fact Purple Chick is still just a funny name to me. I regard the magnificent BWPS as something so distinctive and complete that you can't compare it to the disparate assemblage of tracks on TSS, whose first CD suffers from being straitjacketed into the same order as BWPS. Ideally they should be heard on shuffle. (This may have been discussed on other occasions.)

I've just discovered where your (current) signature is from: "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa", a short story by Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend.
John, I thoroughly enjoy the fact that you looked that up. Unfortunately, there's only a few copies of that book in existence. siiiggggghhhh. I've seen chunks of the text online but do you know if the whole story is online anywhere? I recall seeing Peter Gabriel guesting with Vampire Weekend on the song "CCKK" and getting a bit embarrassed about singing his own name! M, I checked up and it wasn't VW Peter Gabriel was guesting with but Hot Chip, who do this cover of "CCKK": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uhi2_oBdXM

This next sprawling but technically perfect palindrome includes all five spellings of Rieley in just one Smiley topic and dispels once and for all the myth that either of Carl's two sons speaks at the start of "The Trader":
Daryl, lie right! Ron, I hung a red artefactoid. I see Pleyel (Eire). Lo, Jack Riley elpees dissed O'Reiley. Not S, W or N, it's U. (Jonah's eye, Rielly.) Diss idyll (Eire), yes? Ha, no! Justin rows Tony, Eli erodes Sid. See Pleyel irk/cajole Rieley elpees, idiot café trader. A gnu: "Hi!" North, G.I. Reilly----rad!

I'm always willing to show pictures of my dog.
Thanks, M. That picture looks familiar. Maybe you posted it earlier in Bubs's "Small Dogs" topic----or in some "Pets" topic that I can't find... This is a recent one of my little dog Diesel:

I have been doing a lot of bussing today. In fact, I get to see my dog later today as a result Do you have a picture of your dog, M, or is there one here somewhere? What did I do today? Morning: Nearly got my left ruddy leg pulled off by the physiotherapist. Afternoon: Fell asleep at my desk. Evening: Ate two fried eggs.

What is up with those Rorschach inkblots "which is right way up" captcha?? I lost my PW and it's asking me which is the "right way up" . What the f*** does that mean? If I understand you correctly, it's the same thing I saw there when I tried to search for something I'd seen and then misplaced. It's a simple exercise just to make sure you're a human being and not some random bot. Usually you just copy down numbers or something. Yeah. It's new to me too. And I was surprised and delighted to find that I'd got my particular "Rorschach inkblot" the right way up! It didn't do me any good though----non-members evidently aren't allowed to use the search function...
