Title: Chicago 1965 Post by: SMiLE Brian on February 26, 2013, 04:54:57 PM How much of this show still exists in the BBs tape library?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T5pQScvkck Could they release the whole show like 1964 live album or just put highlights on the boxset? Title: Re: Chicago 1965 Post by: Shane on February 26, 2013, 05:33:31 PM The limited amount of audio from this concert is just awesome. I too wish there was more available.
LOVE the sound of Carl's 12 string guitar!! Title: Re: Chicago 1965 Post by: SMiLE Brian on February 26, 2013, 05:37:46 PM It's like a "what if" for the group had Brian stayed on the road. It's the live maturity they never got with Bruce.

Title: Re: Chicago 1965 Post by: MBE on February 27, 2013, 03:23:03 AM Brian really was a fine live performer in the sixties and I suspect the early seventies. I love the Beach Boys shows I have heard through mid 1975 but when Brian was there the harmonies sounded so much better.

Title: Re: Chicago 1965 Post by: RONDEMON on February 27, 2013, 09:13:32 AM I LOVE hearing Brian's transforming voice here. Starting to sound a little like his 70's self.

Strange though, these songs don't sound overdubbed to my ears.
I'm assuming the reason why Brian made this appearance was the intention to turn this performance into a 2nd live LP, which never materialized. Title: Re: Chicago 1965 Post by: SonicVolcano on February 28, 2013, 01:33:50 AM Awesome! I wonder what the next song was? Their biggest song Mike says?? I do have this show (incomplete), which I found out yesterday, and he talks about I Get Around. Title: Re: Chicago 1965 Post by: Autotune on February 28, 2013, 02:01:50 AM I don't know how certain people can hear this recording and NOT admit that Brian's vocal technique for a song like this includes using falsetto and full voice on different occasions.
