That is footage from the winter European tour that I think produced the Czech footage. Really wonderful!

All footage with Carl was shot at Parkhotel Bremen, Germany, on December 16, 1968. The Czech concerts took place in 1969.

To me, the best part of watching this clip is hearing the soundtrack through headphones in glorious MONO!  OK, it's probably not a true mono mix, since from what I understand, none were made for the "Friends" album, so it's apparently just a fold-down of the official stereo mix...but listening to it, it's nice to pretend this is what the song would've sounded like had Brian done an honest-to-God mono mix...I really dig it!

It is a true mono mix, from the B-side of Do It Again.

But is it Brian's mix or Carl's ?

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I know the person who created that video and can assure you that this is not a real mono mix of "Wake The World". It was taken from FRIENDS with a little bit of echo added - works really well. The footage comes from the 1968 European tour docu.

Can you ask him (nicely) to put more videos up? I really enjoyed it.

He's glad that the video brought enjoyment to the watchers, but doesn't upload anymore lately because of copyright infringements.

This footage also exists with voice overs by Carl.  Some of it was presented in Endless Harmony.  He describes how nice it is to just relax while on tour and have breakfast. There is also a voice over (Not seen in Endless Harmony) where he describes how pretty it is outside the hotel.  It was indeed shot in Bremen 68.

Around that time, my father saw one of the Beach Boys in Hannover (not far from Bremen) walking through the city. A friend told him that it was a Beach Boy, but my father couldn't remember which one it was when I showed him a picture. He said it might've been Bruce but he absolutely wasn't sure.
