Howie sent this to me today, and I was blown away by how much is in here that I've never seen before!

It put me in mind of the segments from The Smothers Brothers, and if a mind there I couldn't remember the filmmakers name, even though I took a class with him in the early seventies!  Alas, it was Chuck Braverman, and, while I couldn't seem to find his "History of the 60's in One Minute", I did come up with this one:

Mr. Roach - I'd like to add a few links to Dan McLaughlin's film "God Is Dog Spelled Backwards" which became a Smothers Brothers film short set to Mason Williams' "Classical Gas".

It has quite a history, and I was planning on eventually writing more about this but since you mentioned the Smothers Brothers' history kinestasis film, I had to link it here! This video tends to disappear from YouTube whenever it's posted, and it's only a (very accurate) recreation of the original.

I've watched this film (recreation) and have had tears running down my cheeks (not exaggerating at all...), I think it is one of the greatest pieces of film I've ever seen and the music of Classical Gas adds to the beauty. And the original song when it was still a student film from UCLA was Beethoven's 5th!

This to me is as awesome as television-film-music can be:
