I could not be more FREAKING excited. I'm going to merda myself, AAHH yay!!
I have been waiting for this since childhood, this just made my day Smiley

http://www.brianwilson.com/news/press_11-15-10.html
While it's nice he's doing Canada, and the UK, and Paris,  what's the problem with managament that there is NO US tour announced?
He's doing 9 friggin Canadian dates, and nothing mentioned for the whole USA?
Brian needs to get off his butt and kick his management HARD.   They're downright crummy.
A US artist with no US tour.
He always sells out his shows in Europe. Here, not so much. SAd but true.

Have to say, that's just not the case. The RFH shows in 2002, 2004 & 2007 were almost entirely sold out, but I've been to concerts in Nottingham ('02), Portsmouth ('04) and Birmingham ('05) that were far from full. Likewise, in mainland Europe he seems to sell well in The Netherlands & Scandinavia, but has always had huge problems in Germany.

Maybe he needs to do a joint tour with David Hasselhoff?

Kayla (and anyone else who may be interested),

It looks like the extra tix I have for the Calgary shows are:

Orch Pit - Ctr
Row - BBB (actual 2nd row)
Seats 36-37

as well as:

Orch Pit - LC
Row - CCC (actual 3rd row)
Seats - 21-20

I also have:

Orch Pit - CTR
Row - BBB
Seats - 42-45
But these are the seats that I will be probably be using.

Feel free to PM me if you have any interest.

Gee, Calgary doesn't look like it's far from Lethbridge; is there a direct link road?

Lethbridge is just a couple hours from Calgary.  Yes there is a direct link road and it is an easy drive.  Lots of clear signs.

A lesson to be learned from this........

When Brian or Mike are anywhere in your neighborhood (within 500 miles) GO SEE THEM.

They both tour far and wide and if you can get there, you should go.  Go when and while you can.  I've never regreted seeing the guys in any configuation in any era.

Time is getting short.

And there is nothing wrong with hopping a plane for a short vacation to a distant city.  Visit a place you've never been and while you are there, see Brian or Mike.  Always works for me.

How it really got to my soul

Exactly. In the summer of 2009 I drove 500 miles to see Mike & Bruce. Combining it with a nice vacation in the northern part of my country made it so worth it.

I agree Donald, you are preaching to the choir (for me anyway).

And don't forget Al too, his shows are just as worthy of your time as Brian and Mike and Bruce's shows.

I live in Calgary, Alberta but I have travelled near and far to see any and all configs of The Beach Boys.  And with the guys being in their golden years, time is running short.  As the song goes "Won't last forever, it's kinda sad"

Nothing beat seeing Carl with the band (I'm so glad I had the chance to see that before Carl passed) but the last 10 years has held many great live memories for me.

This is just a list of shows that I have seen in the last ten years:

Sounds like it worked well for you. So one day of driving, a concert and a week? vacation. Could work.
I don't know about hopping a plane, tho. That seems like it could be pricey. especially when  you add in the taxi fares and all.

And for you, Rich, all  I can say is WOW!  You are one dedicated fan!!
Mostly weekend shows I guess, but still; that's a lot of traveling.
We all decide the best use for our own $$, eh?

So my question is, is this the nail in the coffin of any Beach Boys 50th anniversary reunion tour? Seems kind of funny that this is being booked so far in advance. Don't know what that indicates. But I'll be looking forward to the Toronto show.

The reunion tour can't really get started until it gets close to their actual anniversary; and since that's not really until September, the grand tour will be starting on October 31.
At least that's my solution.

Here's my gameplan for 2011 (of course, having a copy of Mike & Bruce's schedule would help immensely: or blow this out of the water):

Jan/Feb - Brian records Disney album
spring - US Gershwin tour
June - Canadian Gershwin tour
late summer - some kind of reunion event
September - European Gershwin tour
fall - Brian records 'something'
December - official reunion event
