For some reason I felt compelled to post this here:

Who would have expected to see that, 5 or 6 years ago? It's good to see that things are going slightly better in the BB world.  Smiley

Yes, I DO know Facebook didn't even exist at the time - that's not what I was referring to, smartass

Facebook actually did exist 5 years ago...I've been on since '05. But I'm sure the "old people" (like Al and Mike) didn't know about it until '07 or '08.

You really think Al operates his own FB?

Actually that's a genuine message Grin And I've been told that this page is approved by Al and maintained by someone who's close to him. My source could be wrong, but I have no reason to not trust that person.

The real question is..........and the one that matters more...........is if Mike likes Al!  Grin

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Of course, neither Mike nor Alan actually 'run' their own FB pages... but they are official, and Mike's page has put links to Alan's Big Sur gig up of late, so... I'd say anything posted there has the nod from Messers L & J.

I posted the message exactly as it appeared on my facebook "news" page, so... Not a joke. Is it disappointing?  Undecided

Are you paying cash?

Yes, but Al's rates are based on his height; only a dollar per foot, so he's a cheap date.

Some musicians....including household names....do actually run their own pages. I know this because I know one in real life, and through him have befriended a handful of others on FB. Genuine stars reading and typing their own messages and updates.

But it is true that more often, especially with someone who has a busy schedule such as Mike Love, a famous person will have minions to operate thier page/site for them. They may well check in themselves to see what's going down....but the words are usually typed by staff.

Entirely true: sadly, it's also true that some non-household names (except in highly restricted households...) give the impression of running their own FB pages when they don't. Silly, really.

I'm thinking of hiring Tom Martin to manage my facebook page... and maybe post a thing or two at BBB in my favour...
