Here's one of the most fanbases, useless info topic right now!

What's the history on ending Barbara Ann with the A-G-F (depending on key)?

Its been inherited down from Carl and Al to both Foskett and Totten... its
a great legacy Smiley

What's the earliest sighting of this ending?

I'd say since they first started performing it! (So 1965?) If this is the ending you mean, where it's briefly played by Carl:

And don't forget Matt Jardine too! (at least vocally on the "Home Improvement" version)

Wow, cool, that's earlier than I thought!

I know Totten had written it in to the scores when performing with symphonies! I think its kinda poweful!

What about the "vamp" used as an intro to the song? I remember seeing them perform the song during the "campfire scenes" of the tv show they did(I forget the name of it), and Carl right away jumped into the vamp as soon as Mike just mentioned the name of the song. I always thought that that scene spoke volumes about how cheesy the group had become.

Yeah... the vamp intro goes all the way from super cool (Knebworth) to cheesy Smiley
But since its used both by "The Beach Boys" and "Brian Wilson" its part of the legacy by now...
