As I was shambling through Holland Park recently, I passed Michael Winner's house, which is next to Bryan Ferry's house.  And it got me wondering.  These endangered showbiz species - they tend to cluster together (presumably for warmth, or perhaps to swap bizarre dietary tips or lawyers'/dealers' details).

So, back in the Bellagio days, who were Brian's neighbours?  Anyone familiar?

John and Michelle Phillips?

I remember reading that John & Michelle lived "very close" to Brian.

Don't know for the Bellagio days, but wasn't John Fogerty Brian's neighbour at one time?

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Think I did read once that Brian & Fogerty were neighbor's, but I'd just mentioned recently that 'back in the day' Fogerty lived just up the road from Dennis, on Beverly Glen.  The Phillips did indeed live across the street from the Wilson's, and I remember Elvis having a great place around the corner from Brian on St. Pierre, the road that was the cut between Beverly Glen & Bellagio.  Dennis used to trip on Elvis' house, the same as he would years later on Hefner's.  I used to tell him that instead of screaming outside, if he rang the bell they'd probably invite him in!  But he used to like to play the fan sometimes, and preferred to stalk...  Ah, back in the day...

Didn't Danny Hutton, Terry Melcher, David Crosby, etc also live in the same general area?

They were mostly all clustered in Laurel Canyon, specifically Lookout Mountain.  (Danny still lives up there, raising crazy little Hutton's).  Dennis & Brian both loved venturing into Laurel for music & festivities, but there was a world of difference between the various Canyons, none more so maybe than Bel Air & Laurel.  In those daze, Beverly Glen was somewhere in between, both literally & figuratively.  My own favorite, where I've resided the most, is Topanga...

Great. As an Elvis-fan I really love stories of connections between BBs and him.
I saw an interview with Manson and he said that Elvis once through stones on him so he would get away from his ground. Doesn't sound like Presley but if it happened, it was probably one of the Memphis Mafia.
I'm certain that I'm gonna ask you if you got some more Presley/Wilson-stories some time...
