When you say it's the soundtrack, do you mean it's the actual music from the movie? or are they  versions  recreated for this LP?

Okay I hate to say this, but...... I have this on a homemade copy on CD. The songs Mike did aren't all that bad. I never did see the movie though.

You can do much worse Ted. I have the first AND second (as a twofer) on 1 CD... and I even listen to it regularly. The second Celebration IMO is better than the first one btw.

I coulld say something about the Disco Celebration LP as well, but I'll pass....

One of the highlights of Karen Lamm's career - a food fight scene, stolen straight from Animal House!
(And husband Dennis had inappropriate 'relations' with cast member Didi Conn on an airplane flight...)

Is it weird that whenever I've heard Celebration's music I imagine that Mike Love was stomping his feet up and down and swinging his arms across his chest during all of the songs, only stopping to do weird finger gestures?

Not in the least bit weird!

I wish they'd put the side 1 material to this soundtrack/album with the first Celebration album and the Disco Celebration album, all on one cd.

Because of his "moves" or his no undershirted Adidas jumpsuit?

Man that Brian loves his Adidas! Loved the track suits in the mid 70s and still loves the pants to this day.

A little trivia, the cover shot for the Almost Summer soundtrack is of the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard.  Somewhere in that time frame, give or take a year, the Eagles had a wildly successful album called Hotel California, which had a very similar cover shot of the Beverly Hills Hotel on the front of it.
