Hey there, I know in the past it’s hard to find the album on street date, so here are the stores that we know are carrying the album on Tuesday. I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to hearing what you think about it. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns on how to find it Tuesday. Thanks again for all your support.

I received the Sunday fliers for both Target & Best Buy and did not see a mention of its release on Tuesday. I recall at least with Best Buy that Brian's new CDs were advertised for TLOS, WIRWFC, GIOMH and BWPS. I was a little disappointed not seeing it there.

I'm going to go get it at Best Buy.  I went by yesterday but they didn't have it out yet.

Who is selling it the cheapest?

Usually it's amazon.com, but then I'd have to wait for it.

I'm praying the little Mom 'n' Pop store in my town stocks it instead of all the Emo junk they usually sell, if not E-Bay!

I was hoping for a mention in the circulars, but to be honest, the big-box stores devote very little space to audio/video releases nowadays.  Best Buy used to have 2 full pages; now there's only one page, if that.  The cover pix are very tiny as well.  These items have always been loss leaders...go into Target to pick up a new CD and realize that you also need a bunch of other stuff, especially since you have to walk thru the entire store to get to the a/v department.  I just hope the CD is nicely displayed on an end-cap or by the registers.  I'm also interested in seeing how Whole Foods displays it, and if they're going to play it in the store.  I once heard "Darlin'" in one of the WF stores near me!

Maybe Disney Pearl doesn't do the typical "Wal Mart can sell it for 7 dollars" thing, and since the album's going to be more expensive, nobody's advertising it.

Picked one up this morning at my local "record" shop, Zia Records. They had 8 on the shelf priced at $12.99.

They didn't have the freebie lithograph thing to go with it yet but knew about it and expect it in any day from the warehouse.

Update: they got the lithos in same day & emailed me. Gave me two when I showed up. Good on ya, indie record store!

I got a 40%-off-all-CDs coupon in my email from Borders, so I went there and ended up getting a copy (they only had 3 copies available from what I could see) for $10.19 plus tax. Listened to half of it in the car afterward ... sounds great!

I went, inially, to a Target Superstore at 3:30 this (Tuesday) afternoon.  It was not there.  I drove the 8 miles to a Best Buy that was closest to where I live.

I didn't find it initially.  I asked the clerk (after going through all the 'New Releases' of their display) what was going on.  She checked her computer and found 4 copies in inventory but none to be found.  She/they called in the guy that was most involved with cd's at this particular Best Buy. It took him 12 minutes to get there.  Then, after a search he went to 'look in the back'. That took 14 mins. He found nothing even though the computerizied inventory check said there were four in stock.  He couldn't find them so I said, after a total of 35 mins, thanks for trying.  As I was leaving to check other stores he chased me down saying he'd found it.  He indeed did.  It was an obscure place that no one would ever have a legitimate chance to see/stumble across.

After this discovery I suggested that the remaining 3 copies they had might well be better placed .  Those copies were in the middle of a 'rack', showing W-Z artists, and was totally in about the last place one might find a cd.  Middle of the display; absolute bottom row.  $13.99 plus tax.  Fine.  But it shouldn't have taken 35 mins to find and buy a cd that had been released TODAY!

Screw Best Buy!

I know. The CD was on sale for $12.99, but they take the 40% off the *list* price, which in this case was $16.99.

Still, I was fairly pleased with the price and very pleased with the disc itself.

I had pre-ordered it from Amazon.com (at the same time I ordered "Postcard from California".  Amazon shipped it so that it arrived at my mailbox on the morning of the 17th.

I used to get aggravated when I would pre-order something and it would be on store shelves several days before I received my copy.  They seem to have fixed that.

I enjoyed listening to BWRG all evening.

Almost the same story for me.  I checked the Walmart and Target websites, and both said that the item was not available in stores...only online.  I checked the Best Buy website, and it showed only three of the closest 6 stores to me having it in stock at all.  So, I went to one of the stores that had it in stock, searched the racks, nothing.  I asked a sales clerk, and he started looking around, and finally found 5 copies stashed behind a CD by a guy named Charlie Wilson, on the bottom shelf.  As soon as the sales guy walked away, I moved the remaining 4 copies to a higher shelf, right in the front.

I posted in another thread, that was my exact experience with Charlie Wilson yeseterday!  Only my store it was behind Charlie Wilson on the TOP shelf.  Did Charlie have 5 shelves at your store?  LOL  I also moved Brian in front of Charlie.

Just canceled my vinyl preorder at Amazon.  It still hasn't shipped and the listing has changed to "sign up to be notified when this item becomes available".  You can't even order it from them now.  I ordered from Elusive Disc instead, since it's in stock and now shipping according to their site.  What a fucking hassle.

Bought my copy at FYI for $9,99 on day of it's release, "ON SALE" as the sticker says (instead of their original price of $17,99  Shocked )

This is getting ridiculous! I went all over the town today looking for a copy of BWRG and couldn't locate one anywhere! I tried the local Butchers and they had none. I tried two Greengrocers and lo and behold! they had squat! Same goes for the Hardware Store, Bakery, you name it, not a single copy in sight! It's all very well making one of your most acclaimed albums in years Brian but without a decent distribution network ensuring they get on shop shelves how are people going to get their hands on a copy?

In all seriousness I haven't been able to find a copy in any shop that sells CDs all week now.

Huh. No trouble whatsoever here: it was in the featured new releases section of one of the more popular non-big box stores in town.
