has this existed for our consumption anywhere? Whenever i listen to the song I always strain to hear that backing music better. SO SO SO good. i'm surprised it hasn't gotten the backing track released yet...unless it has?

I've never heard anything like that, but I do agree that the song works well as an instrumental. That's the hallmark of a great arrangement (vocal or instrumental, really) - being able to stand alone and still work. Brian was a master at this. Before getting into the Beach Boys, I would have never thought to actually listen to just the instrumental track to a song by itself - I never saw the point. But listening to stuff like this made me appreciate Brian's talent on an entirely new level. |
