A New article by international Van Dyke Parks-researcher Dale Carter reveals that Parks was once asked to join the supergroup as the 4th member!
And even to join the Byrds at an other time. And that he WAS once a member of Mothers Of Invention! (Here in a Scandinavian newspaper:)

Was referring to his potential involvement with CSN--had missed the Byrds invite altogether.

Let's be honest here: Parks just really wouldn't be a good fit for CSN.  He's hardly a vocalist, and I can't see his eccentric lyrics really gelling well alongside songs like "Teach Your Children" or even David Crosby's paranoid anthem "Almost Cut My Hair".

I can't read Danish, but I thought the pic of Van with the spaceship dropping all those little aliens was pretty cool.
