A. Both Brian Wilson and Raymond Scott have had their music used in Warner Bros. Cartoons. Raymond Scott's compositions were used in many Warner Bros. cartoons, and Brian Wilson recently had his song "Believe In Yourself" used in a Duck Dodgers special. It was really unexpected, but here it is:

. This segment, BTW, teaches us an important lesson. Whenever you're in a precarious situation, just pray for a supernatural manifestation Brian Wilson to appear and kick you a can of pineapples. Or, maybe, to believe in yourself or something like that. I don't know. It's a cracking song, though, isn't it?

Actually, Cal Harris engineered the first "Good Vibrations" session at Gold Star, not Western.

It should be noted that Raymond Scott never wrote music specifically for cartoons.

Wait a second... this source mentions Cal Harris at both Western AND Gold Star:

I'll defer to you guys — I'd like my blog to be as accurate as possible. Thanks.

Another parallel of sorts: Raymond Scott built a keyboard version of a Theremin (called "THE CLAVIVOX") in 1952 — not exactly the same as the Tannerin that was made 15 years later — but a similar concept in the sense that they were both attempts to make playing the Theremin, with exact pitches, easier & more reliable. See this page of my site for more info:

Right: Raymond Scott's tunes were big hits during the 1930s thru '50s when swing & big-band ruled. I've wondered if maybe Murry had some in his collection.

We've made several attempts to interview him for a new documentary film, but sadly he is in poor health, & says his memory is failing him.
