Nice new adds. Here's another I've forgotten & found thru user Lowbacca search word "Bryan"

Bryan Adams -
Tracks Of My Years
It is what it is, not more: Bryan Adams covering some of his favourites in an unsurprising manner. It's enjoyable all the way through, though.
Includes a cover of "God Only Knows".

Someone said the magic word (cowbell) ...
"Do You Wanna Dance", by the brothers, cousin and ... cousin's cousin, in their striped shirts:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYihk06saGM
Meanwhile, the two remaining members of the old band carry on touring with younger support musicians. Here they are, in a dark horse town in the middle of the west:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QtssAcr4Vc
Edited to add song title:
"Kokomo"

And on the second clip, I was expecting a video of the current Beach Boys. Very cheeky to throw in some BOC. The cowbell reference should've given it away.

Alex Chilton - Honkin' Down the Highway (live)

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

M Ward's new album,
More Rain
, includes a cover of "You're So Good to Me."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuWNiCCCFDc
Ward has done a lot of Wilson/Beach Boys, including an instrumental of "You Still Believe in Me" on an earlier solo record (
Transistor Radio
, I think?) and some others with She & Him, as well as obviously participating in
No Pier Pressure
.

Seems like it's not available in this country. He performed it on the BrianFest. Cool guitar soloing. Wonder if it's done the same way in this new album.

Perhaps you could check the free previews on iTunes, Amazon, or whatever other services are available to you to get a feel for it. Since it is out for purchase (at least here), I'd guess the previews are available as well. Perhaps it's up on Spotify by now, too, I'm not sure.

Rare 60s cover of GV by Electric Piano Playground
. This is what Larry said about the band's name:
Quote
I finally tracked it down and was surprised to discover that the ‘electric’ in the title was not as much a descriptor of the piano involved, but more along the lines of mid-60s ‘turned on’ nomenclature, i.e. the piano was “electric”, just not an electric piano, if you follow (I wouldn’t blame you for being confused).
To read about the BBs cover check Larry's blog post:

Interesting "Sloop John B" by Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) & Hailey Cramer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv4wLVeHVgk
I like the review by some chap: "Not the Norman Blake I was expecting." (bluegrass guitarist)
Norman is BBs fan, check the topic "Famous Beach Boys fans". Hailey is Australian nu-soul musician as per wiki (I didn't know who she was). She sings Mike's vocal gospel style, there's even 2 back-up female singers doing synchronic moves like in real gospel the ladies backing the singer would. Anyhoo, check it out!

So this is the right thread for the BBs covers right?
Here's some cool picks rarely mentioned, real shame:
Ava Cherry & The Astronettes - God Only Knows
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFNBVo52uBw
There's an interesting backstory to this, it goes way back to the 70's iirc the whole thing basically is the main singer Ava Cherry used to play in a club with her band in London Bowie would always check out, he ended up hooking with the singer and taking her on his Young Americans tour as backup and then wanted to produce and make an album for her and her band, did songs together and covers, including this one, in a much more soul take which is an idea from Bowie himself as it is believe he has always thought God Only Knows was a soul song deep down in its roots, interesting
In the end the sessions went into too much different directions and it got cancelled and unreleased for decades.
Christopher Holland - Funky Pretty
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTmjJ6vkGe0
This dude is the son of Jools Holland! this is from his 2012 album "Corner Green"
Suzzy & Maggie Roche - A Day In The Life Of A Tree
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXZPpAnJxm4
Now this sounds just adorable, miles above the Yo La Tengo one (yeah they covered that one too, but stick to the Little Honda trust me)
The Rubinoos - Heroes & Villains
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnfqgzcVmjM
The Rubinoos are such a cool power pop band we never bring up anymore, and they did this crazy good a capella cover!
Hefner - You Need a Mess of Help to Stand Alone
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWxmKKt3m4Y
Released as a B-Side to their single "The Hymn For The Cigarettes" in 1999, a more raw indie interpretation, played like that, it comes off very surfin' usa! pretty rad
Will C - Had to Phone Ya
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfJNIIR_LoI
Found this randomly, no idea who it is??? but very nice, there is another Beach Boys cover on his albuum i believe, it's titled "Almost Summer '78" and it was released in 2014
The Telescopes - Never Learn Not To Love You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5DF0hZYdI0
From their 1990 EP "Everso"
The Honeys, David Marks, Carnie And Wendy Wilson, Carl B Wilson, John Tiven, Jez Graham, Stacey Keach & Rachel And The Reindeerz - California Feelin'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKN_9f_QPBU
Wait what...?! how have i never heard of this before??!! oh well, doesn't sound really good anyway..
Solomon Burke - Soul Searchin'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-AUPzurfDM
How is it we never bring this up? the album won an grammy, and for christ sake, it's Solomon Burke himself coverng Soul Searchin'! what a crazy world.
Medicine - 'Til I Die
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAyvHZXgodI
A cool noisy take on this classic, it amazes me how somehow this song got a new cult within the 90's, everyone started to cover it and i have no idea where this came from or brought it up out of the blue, as it was alerady beginning before the I Just Wasn't Made For These Times release, i figure maybe the Good Vibrations boxset but that seems too vage, it's filled with stuff for people to all together stop on a song, as amazing it is of course, however i don't doubt the success of that boxset since even Daft Punk showcases that they owned it inside their first album Homework or how there also has been some covers of Still I Dream Of It following this
Kat Edmonson - I Just Wasn't Made For These Times
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pULGJ7IqwA
Found this by pure coincidence, smooth, kinda sounds like what if Norah Johns covered it i guess?
JP Haynie - At My Window
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKAu1AqJUsM
From this Sunflower tribute album from 2016 i think? i found on bandcamp which brings together indie artists but also stars BMX Bandits (who we know who big fans they are) thought the keys was adorable here (also i don't know if you guys heard about it (sorry my first time postin' in years) but there's also a very good Smiley Smile tribute album made by indie peeps from Portland)
Sal Valentino - Angel Come Home
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWZYU2pi4WE
Cause there is never enough love in the world for this song !!!
Gazelle Twin - Love and Mercy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUlVo-jvG1o
I'm not big on this whole trend of doing covers for trailers, tv shows, games, movies or whatever and make it sound dark or whatnot (remember that bad cover of California Dreamin' for that San Andreas movie? ugh) but this! well first of all, what a cool choice, anything to make a boost to that beautiful song, and this cover compliments the composition, i like it

And more:
Top Dreams - Feel Flows
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM3AQ93Rfps
Very modern indie electro take on it, thought it was so cool! even cooler how it's a real shame this song is barely ever covered, which is crazy with the popularity it got since it's played in Almost Famous, people should honor Carl more, this is such a great composition
Kate Campbell - Add Some Music To Your Day
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vPTD340Nbw
Some country take on that one, pretty nice and fitting, feels good to find some pro covers of that song!
Bic Runga - The Lonely Sea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1IuZRtzUE0
From last year i believe, very nice
Greg Davis - At My Window
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCuSUabqplg
As good as the previous cover of that song i posted
Daryll Ann - 4th Of July
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeWN-yDdBXQ
I swear it is! i know, it's so different, i had to double check it, but it is indeed credited as the Dennis Wilson composition! a very jazzy bossanova re interpretation
now if only there were other cool pro artist recorded cover of songs such as All This Is That, In The Back Of My Mind, I'll Bet He's Nice, The Night Was So Young, My Diane, Melt Away, Ro Grande etc....
