A total "geek" discussion here.  I've noticed that some 1960s USA issue Capitol labels use flat paper stock, while others use glossy stock paper.  From the copies I've seen, original pressings of BB albums from Surfin' Safari through Today used glossy labels.  Then a switch to flat labels took place starting sometime in 1965, lasting through the time of 20/20.  I've seen the same trend on Beatles records as well. 

Some of the earlier BB albums had mid 1960s (later) pressings that used flat labels as well.  However, I did find a copy of "Friends" that has a glossy label, which was strange.  Has anyone found any other oddities?
