They're great artifacts. Why just japan & China? Just paid $100.00 for " Spirit of America" ? Did I get ripped?

I love them - had never seen these until I got the Beatles Mono box. I guess it's a niche collectors thing, but it'd be cool if more places started manufacturing them this way. I'd love a  Sunflower mini LP.

Are you talking about the mini CDs? Like the original Love and Mercy CD single? Hate 'em -  nice to look at, lovely to hold, but you can't slip them into a Mac's disc drive.

No I think he means the replica LP cases that are made in Japan for certain cds. i.e. with the Beatles mono box, all the albums were packaged in perfect replicas of the original LP sleeves, so The White Album opens at the top, and has black inner sleeves, the 4 photos, the pull out poster, but all CD size. It really is beautiful.

Ah, many thanks for the clarification. Yes those are very nice indeed, provided they're done in such a way that the discs can easily be removed and returned without getting greasy fingerprints on 'em!

I have the Beatles mono box and appreciate the attention to detail but some of the discs ain't easy to deal with!

I also have a superb replica/repro of the Smile 66/67 album on CD, replete with card sleeve with front and back slicks, booklet and rainbow capitol label. Quite stunning attention to detail.  Sometimes I even play it!

Wow that sounds brilliant beyond measure. What is the tracklist, wheredyageddit, and how much? (providing I'm not breaking any board rules in asking those questions of course!!)

It's one of those cool attempts at creating the 2004 BWPS but with 66/67 sessions. I shouldn't really say where I got it - it's no longer available anyway, only a very small number were made, I think to order – I  think they cost me US$30 each at the time.
