Wow...trippy to see it all boarded up like that.  Where was Pandora's Box exactly?

I guess the best description would be, a non-alcohol serving club for kids: the usual description is 'a coffee house'. After all, when Marilyn met Brian there, she was just fourteen and a half(ish).

Pandora's Box was also referenced in the song Plastic People, from Zappa and the MOI's Absolutely Free album. Apparently, in Pandora's Box there were a vast quantity of Plastic People. Smiley

According to Crosby's autobiography*, it was on an island at the intersection.

I'm trying to figure out why it looks familiar, since the building is long since demolished (right?) and the intersection is different.

Ah!  Now I know why:

There's a diagram with aerial photo...the diamond is still there.  That's why it looked familiar (I know that seems strange but finding old roads and noting those kinds of landmarks is a hobby of mine).  Fascinating.

Long gone - the '66 Strip riots (November 12th), in part, protesting the 10pm curfew imposed on such establishments. It was demolished August 3rd 1967.

Was interesting reading what went down with the curfews.  Something almost identical (though less publicized) happened in March 1990, effectively killing the "hair metal" scene in L.A.

I like the Beatles a bit more than the Boys of Beach, I think Brian's band is the tops---really amazing. And finally, I'm liberal. That's it.

Don't worry Andrew, you inadvertently answered the question I was going to ask!
