Brian to play San Fran Art Gallery

Friends of mine in S.F. are hosting a gig by Brian later this month. Here's the info:
The San Francisco Art Exchange is extremely proud to announce the most exciting event in our 26 year history! SFAE has held the most important Rock 'N' Roll art exhibits in the world for more than 20 years, but this one is clearly the most spectacular. The legendary Brian Wilson will appear and perform at the gallery in-person on Saturday January 23rd for an exclusive and intimate musical performance with members of his stellar band!
How Can I Be Part of This?
Option 1: The purchase of That Lucky Old Sun book and limited edition box set of prints signed by Brian Wilson and Sir Peter Blake at $1,500 will provide you with a "party ticket" for one to the gallery concert SRO section.
The other options are kind of
expensive
, so I'll let you check those out yourself:
http://sfae.com/mailings/event.html
Entry into this one-of-a-kind event is secured through the acquisition of any one of the four highly collectable art packages described below. Special prices have been made available for these extremely rare artworks. These prices are only offered to those attending the event and prices will revert thereafter. For those of you who have visited the gallery, you will know that space is very limited. This is an amazing chance to see Brian in a small venue!
Please review these options carefully and contact us right away to discuss further. The phone number is 800.344.9633 and our email is
info@sfae.com

Sounds like , other than your self and the promoters, there'll be very few attendees.
$1500 to see Brian play? Nah. Not worth it, even if you throw in the "That Lucky Old Sun book and limited edition box set of prints signed by Brian Wilson and Sir Peter Blake" which doesn't seem like it's worth anywhere near $1500.
Tho I'm not sure how many sigs Sir Peter Blake does, or the value of same.
Anyone have the inside scoop on how many copies of the book and print set have been sold? 5? 10?

Saw this and forgot to post about it...
Brian's pic reminds me of one of those masks the "presidential" bandits wore in Point Break.

*sigh* Why do Brian's "people" make him do stuff like this?

I like the way that the original posts states that the other options are kind of expensive...
Anybody who pays that amount of money to watch Brian play a gig he probably won't want to be at needs their head tested.

Not the same thing exactly, but along the same lines; A few years back there was an auction on ebay for reproductions of all of the SMiLE drawings, with Frank Holmes signature on the cover. The booklet drawings all came on a sort of thin cardboard backing (perfect for hanging up if you wanted to), and you also could have Frank Holmes personally write you a message on the cover. I won the auction, and I wont say how much I paid, but it wasn't anywhere near this amount (not even the same stratosphere), but it was enough that some people would probably deem me crazy for paying it. It's worth it though, to see that SMiLE cover slick in a frame with a personalized Frank Holmes note on it.

That was said totally tongue in cheek; I purposely highlighted their press release in yellow,
so that the irony of
kind of expensive
would stand out in that way.

That's cool. It's weird that it was such a high priced deal, but hey, if Brian actually enjoyed playing as they claimed, and there were enough people who did turn up, good for them I guess.
