Hope I haven't missed it, the Great Schedule Disruptor (aka a baby) means I am out of various loops.
Any word on when it will be shown?
or,
Was it good?

Not been on yet. Looks like it was made in the summer, so broadcast might be in the spring, if I could hazard a guess. BBC4 is a great channel for music docs though. Top notch.

Check out the Jon Stebbins thread, strangely I asked the same thing yesterday!
According to Jon it's now slated for a Jan 2010 release on BBC4, I for one can't wait and will be encouraging as many people as possible to watch it.

Yes January is what I last heard, I'm trying to get an update and will post it here if its relevant. Here's a link with some outdated info about the doc...but there are also some stills from some of the interview segments.

That looks brilliant. Please ask the BBC to show it at a time when my son is being well-behaved.

I didn't see Brian's name on there as a list of interviews. Come to think of it, he doesn't seem to say a whole lot about Dennis.

I know what you mean, for the Dennis 'Forever' doc there was no Brian interview yet virtually everyone else connected to Dennis was interviewed, even Mike. Strange indeed.

Actually there is a new clip of Brian commenting on Dennis' music in the documentary...its brief...but very revealing.

I just looked at the pictures on Jon's sight. I am guessing that Carl and Michael are Dennis' sons? And Michael is Gage?

Carl, Michael and Gage are all Dennis' sons. His other sons are Christopher, Ryan and Scott and he also has a daugter, Jennifer. Don't know if the latter four have been interviewed, Jon can you answer this?
I just realised that's a lot of kids, though not as many as Mike (nine!)

Yes Carl and Michael are DW's sons...but why would Michael be Gage? Michael is Michael, Gage is Gage.

I never knew about Christopher and Ryan...were they from Carol or Barbara?

Is the 'Forever' DVD worth buying? It's only £3 but I still felt cheated paying a similar price for a Smiths documentary that had no worth.

I thought maybe Gage was a nick name or middle name or something. Plus I had seen a picture a few years ago of what I thought was Gage. Either he looks like Michael, or he was Michael and I was mistaken.

It is amazing, but all of Dennis' children are completely unique individuals, yet every one of them bares a striking resemblance to him in some significant way.

Just to be entirely accurate, Scott was his adopted son: mother was first wife Carole.

I heard about rumours that Scott may be Jim Morrison's son. Any truth to that?

There were two reasons I skipped mentioning that too, Andrew; first of all, Scott is so like Dennis in so many ways that it's hard to remember that he isn't his natural father; and the other thing is I don't think it's right to always draw attention to the fact that someone is adopted. Can only imagine that it must be difficult to try & really believe that 'you were even more special, because you were chosen', or something along those lines, when you always hear people making this distinction.
Not meaning to criticize you for pointing this out, Andrew. But you reminded me of feelings I had about this before I had posted my earlier one. Also maybe thinking about Brian recently...

Appreciate that, Eddie... but as the info has been in every BB book since about 1978 and (I'm pretty sure) earlier articles on the band, I felt it public domain. But understand entirely.

Slight derail on this thread but still on topic - I got the Long Promised Road - Songs Of Carl And Dennis Wilson album through yesterday and heard Wouldn't It Be Nice (To Live Again) for the first time and what can I say? I love this song already and would absolutely love to hear the proper version, perhaps on a complete Dennis retrospective released around the time of the documentary but I know I'm in dream world with this one.

Hi Paulos -- You're not in a dream world with that thought. It's a case of 'when'...not 'if'.
Also, congrats on (finally) getting Adam Marsland's CD. It's great isn't it?!! And he's truly a nice guy as well. Just so you know...

I remember reading that the POB/Bambu release sold rather well. If that is the case then maybe there is promise. I have seen pictures and reviews of a best of Dennis Wilson called Dreamer. But I've never seen it in the stores. Was that ever released in the US?
